I miss Dodd. I hope he's in consideration as someone's VP or for the Cabinet |
|
I think he ran a nice, clean campaign, and as my senator, I think he does an outstanding job. I'd like to see him get a good position in the next administration. I think he'd make a great VP for someone.

1. No problem with Dodd or his creds. The problem is that we'd lose a Senate seat. |
|
The Republican governor of CT would likely appoint Shays to fill the seat, or someone even worse.

I wish Blumenthal would enter national politics. I love that guy. The so-called Competitive Enterprise Institute voted him the nation's worst attorney general. That's enough for me to fall head over heels.

2. I pulled for Dodd too. |

I just hope he remains a voice of reason in the Senate.

He did well in the debates he participated in. Nothing to be ashamed of.

5. I'd rather see him take over as Senate Majority Leader. |
|
My concern with Dodd (as with Biden) in a cabinet post is that they then become part of the administration - and have to fall in line. Look at what Colin Powell did!
If they stay in the Senate, they can still call the President on his/her crap, which they wouldn't be able to do if they were working for him/her.
But I understand what you're saying. He would have made a great president -- his public service has been outstanding.

6. I really liked Dodd as well |
|
He was my #2 behind Obama. He's tough without being abrasive, smart, and in a Senate that hasn't been exactly stellar he's stood up for our constitutional rights. I'd love to see him replace Harry Reid as Majority Leader, although a place on the ticket would work for me :)
