3. I used to follow it closely in its first and second seasons.
Then didn't have time to watch anymore. Excellent show. The fantasy liberal President Bartlet was a much-needed relief, albeit temporary, during those nightmare early W years.

6. Okay, I'm going to confess. When "The West Wing" was on I planned
my nights around the airings. I watched the reruns with just as much enthusiasm as when they first aired. I have bought each and every season on DVD and watch them often (usually when I am exercising).

And, finally, I own several books about the series and have bought all of the script books available. If you want to get the nuance of the shows read the scripts. The tiniest details (that often flew right by the viewer) were not overlooked and gave a richness to the series you don't usually see in a weekly show. Some of the dialog's best moments are lost in the crosstalk and can only truly be appreciated by reading Sorkin's words on paper.

I hope to own a "West Wing" sweatshirt or t-shirt or coffee mug one of these days before NBC with draws them from their network store. A girl can dream.

Does that make me a fan?
