Hypocrisy does not make an argument wrong

It's a common fallacy to attack someone's argument because they may be being hypocritical. For example, if a smoker tells you not to drink because it's bad for you, you may dismiss him because he is a smoker.

But hypocrisy doesn't make a person wrong, it just makes them, well, a hypocrite.

Keep this in mind when saying Obama is wrong for attacking Hillary on her Iraq war votes or that Hillary is wrong for attacking Obama on Rezko.

The point may still be valid even if it is hypocritical.
