I live in Albuquerque and my Dad in Las Cruces, NM. Both of us have been canvassed by Obama's
workers. Neither of us have been visited by Hillary's workers yet.

What is happening in your neighborhood. Who is doing a better job on the ground?

3. I canvassed in NJ yesterday for Obama and Clinton people hadn't been there either...
In my opinion, that's the big advantage of consistently drawing these crowds of 20,000 people, many college students. A lot of those inspired at the rally turn around and volunteer.

It's a HUGE advantage to have at the grassroots level.

5. Same thing happened in SC....
13,000 volunteers reported for duty on Election Day. That works out to one volunteer for every 23 voters who cast a ballot for Obama. :) Hillary's campaign consisted of electronic telephone calls....period.

6. I see you are experiencing the full force...

...of the Obama campaign.

It truly is an amazing blend of organization, inspiration and devoted supporters.

I'm in Iowa, and they were all over the place. They called me, knocked on my door
and even showed up in my driveway. I've never seen anything like it in Iowa
and I've been through plenty of election cycles.

The Obama ground game is unprecedented. Furthermore, I was never bothered or irritated
by these loyal canvassers. They were respectful, kind, gracious and so informed. I learned
so much from them. I began researching Obama after I expressed my concerns to an Obama
canvasser--regarding Habeas Corpus. The canvasser told me that part of Obama's platform
was to restore Habeas. Sure enough, it was right there in his plan.

I leaned Edwards, but became an Obama supporter after I witnessed all of this--and read
up on Obama's plans and experience.

If he can parlay this energy and organization into the GE, McCain should probably just
sit this one out. He has no chance in hell.

BTW--I didn't have one Hillary canvasser come to my door or any of her people call me.
She seemed AWOL, as far as her ground game. I did get one call, the day before our
caucus. By then, my decision was sealed and I was an Obama precinct captain.
Have fun with all of this!!! It will be gone in a couple of days. Enjoy it! I really
miss it.

7. it is fun, isn't it?
I've been working for Obama in two states (KS & MO) and I got calls to go to both Iowa and South Carolina. The organization is really amazing, and the people I've worked with are terrific. This truly is the most fun I've had in any campaign, and I've volunteered for a lot of 'em (more of a reflection of age than anything else!).

8. Go you!!!
Thanks for all of the hard work you are doing!

That's amazing that you've been able to volunteer in so many states!

It's a let down when all of the excitement moves on to new states, but
you get to re-live it over and over!

How wonderful.

You are making a difference and part of something really major!

People like you are helping to change this country.

Thank you.

:)

oh, I've only been in the two states
Although if I had gone to Iowa it would have been nice to have stopped by to say hello :) They had transportation that picked up early in the morning and had you home in the early evening - very, very organized. Impressive.

South Carolina would have been fun but sort of out of the way...

I can't wait for Tuesday! Win or lose, this has been a blast.

Edited on Sun Feb-03-08 10:28 PM by Kristi1696
One of the guys that I canvassed with yesterday is a student from Alabama. At the end of the day, while we were doing our tallies, he got phone-banked from Alabama on his Alabama cell phone.

Hilarious!

10. In Colorado...
I've gotten calls from the Obama campaign asking if I was going to caucus, and I've received mailers. Plus a postcard telling me where to caucus and what time to be there.

I haven't heard from Hillary.

First time caucuser here. :-) Looking forward to it. (We've always lived in states with primaries, so this is new to me. I'm taking my 71-year-old MIL, who has never caucused either.)

11. Obama had better be careful about Obama over exposure and
Obama fatigue. Lot's of folks don't want to be canvassed either in person or by phone.
