As Pat Boone took Tutti-Fruti , so does the Hillary Campaign with the Unimaginative GOMAMA!
and in one case, this is worse, because the Hillary campaign is soooooo unimaginative that it felt compeled to take the actual play on word of the opponents' last name, a motto that he was himself using, and attempt to use it for itselves.

Not one original bone in Hillary's mind, I see. Doesn't bode well for where she will get "original" ideas if she ever became President.

7. Well, I'm just glad that people ...
... are honing-in on the important issues - like who stole whose 'slogan', or are 'unimaginative' in their play-on-words.

There's way too many people here who are concerning themselves with issues like the war, education, SCOTUS appointments, the national debt, etc.

Let's all remember that campaign slogans and mottoes are what this election is REALLY all about!

12. Unfortunately.....GOMAMA is too close to OBAMA for this to be as silly
as I would normally believe. Obama is actually the name of someone who's running for President's last name.

It's like if I started using "NO MORE FILTHERY" as my motto.

Plus, I will add.....when the "Snub" was all over the TV, I realized that what is supposed to be small, isn't.
Same goes for the Reagan bullshit.

13. This whole pseudo discussion is silly ...
But it's still a free country - so feel free to focus your attention on utter nonsense - like slogans, mottoes, and the snub. Those are the kinds of issues that really need attention, and will undoubtedly change the country for the better.

14. Sadly, Nance, Newsweek has an article that people vote with their "gut," not with their head.
Slogans do matter to many people. Companies sue the pants off other companies for stealing their slogans. "War on terror" is a slogan. "Freedom isn't free" is a slogan. Slogans motivate. They condense an entire issue into three pithy words for the believers in that slogan to repeat and print on yellow magnets and such.

Flashy political events in tandem with major sports events also represent the turning away from issues and the turning to "something shiny" mentality of Americans. We have finally reached the epitome of what we represent to the world: sports, celebrities, politicians, all wrapped up in one pretty package of entertainment.

Thank goodness I don't watch television. Just reading about it makes me feel queasy. I can't wait to hear who Britney Spears is considering voting for. Ack.

23. Slogans may be important to 'some people' ...
... but at this point in the process, I doubt that an Obama supporter is going to change their mind based on a slogan, or vice-versa.

And to suggest that any candidate's fitness for the presidency should be judged on their 'slogan creativity' is as worthless a debate as ever I've heard, anywhere, at any time.

Things like For Those Who Think Young and The Pause that Refreshes should be relegated to soft drink commercials, NOT serious debate about presidential elections.

43. I'm not disagreeing with you, I'm just commenting on what I see in everyday life.
Sort of like two diamond rings of equal value, same design, one sold by a department store, one sold by Tiffany's. Which one holds higher value in the purchaser's mind?

Slogans, brands, logos, color schemes, uniform designs, they're all designed to persuade and influence. Issues? That's been thrown out with the bathwater. Sad.
