There are two minority governors (Don't blame Obama's southern poll results on racism) |
|
One is the governor of Massachusetts. That isn't exactly a surprise. A progressive, northeastern state. The other? He is the governor of a southern state and won in a landslide as a rethug with almost no minority support. It is a shame one camp is attacking Democrats of one skin color in an entire region simply because their candidate is losing among that vote.
More truth: three Democrats ran senate races in the South in 2006. Harold Ford got 40% white support. The Texas candidate got 30% of the white vote. James Webb, the populist champion of rural working folk and defender of the predominant culture in the rural South, got 42% white support. Barack is losing solidly among whites in the South for the same reason Hillary is losing solidly among blacks in the South by identical margins.

3. We have not yet seen a test of Obama's appeal to white voters |
|
in the south, in a two-person race. Did Edwards take white votes away from Hillary or from Obama in SC?
You are comparing primary votes against general election votes - which are two different critters.
