Obama has gotten his support in two big leaps. Both of them have been media-associated. Even worse, they are reflected in only some of the individual polls, but show up strongly in the group analysis.
It is probably worrying Obama's wonks because statistical leaps are notoriously unstable. They usually indicate high volatility. It is not enough to have a surge or momentum; something must sustain the numbers, and a volatile environment works against that.
Hillary, of course, is probably putting up the storm shutters, but if she can weather Super Tuesday, she can be expected to do better afterward. The flood of endorsements for Obama will end, and if Obama is ahead at all, the kid-glove treatment will end. However it goes, I expect there to be a significant change after Tuesday -- even if the results show a toss-up.
I keep saying that the primary is being gamed to keep it close, and that it is unwise for Obama's supporters to get overconfident. I am sure that Obama himself is happy with his good fortune, but prepared for as long a siege as Hillary is.
