I'm starting to get embarrassed about the childish behavior on here.
:wtf:

JOHHHNNNNNNN Good googly moogly please come back! The kids are at it again! (Going back wards in time)

"She stole my slogan!"
"John...He's not touching me!" (Handshake)
"Well SHE was looking at me funny!" (looks during debates)
"He said 'I was like-able ENOUGH!" (Debate performance)
"She tried to call me a bad name!" (Perceived racist remarks)
"He's COPYING ME!" (Mandates, 95 percent voting on the same things)
"She's dragging stuff up again!" (Kindergarten-gate)

This is not to mention the whole "Hill-o-copter, Hill-force-one" crap. Obama girl... The names you guys have come up for each other like

sHillbots
Hillarites

or

Obamanation
Obamanuts

And what has to be the absolute worst ...
Obamababy. I remember reading a thread where I can't remember who it was, kept posting pics of babies crying one after the other. It sickened me.

Can you guys see how bad this is? Can we PLEASE try to be a little more civil? Are you proud of yourselves for this childish behavior?

Cmon now, I've lurked for a long time. I KNOW you folks are better than this.

1. Let them post
Anyone who peeks in here will see exactly what it is.

This kind of behavior has taken over not just DU, but the liberal Internet. On DKos it's even more intense.

Four million messianic teenagers with anger-control problems. What used to be enjoyable political sparring is now death-match wrestling.

But let them post. The whole world is watching; the whole world will see.

4. Well, it could contribute to more mature adults going out and voting.
Wouldn't it be nice.

17. Yes. Let the world watch.
People will know what to avoid.

Seriously -- the best antidote to boorish and cultic behavior is its public exposure. No active ridicule is required, since most people have sense enough to know what is happening.

Not just with Obama. Not just with Hillary. With anybody.

It has worked well with pedophiles in the clergy. It worked well with the militias. It's working pretty well with Scientology and Amway.

3. One the one hand, it's kind of ugly and embarassing. But that's democracy for you.
Really, we're just seeing human nature on display. It has little to do with the candidates at all.

In the end, we'll screech and holler and insult each other, and we'll vote in the primaries and in the general election and we'll voluntarily turn over the power to the winner. Any time words win over violence is a time to celebrate.

5. People rarely behave this way in real life, it is the anonymity of the internet that empowers them.
Harder to get away with being an asshole in real life, don't make many friends that way.

6. Sadly, I don't think they are better than this
It is an embarrassment and a shame the way some of these people act.

is not censure, it promotes rationality.

I also no longer hesitate to Hide Threads that have silly titles.

12. I think it was the night of IA, and someone posted that they saw an Obamanation sign @
the victory party and, well that shit didn't look right.

I bet the campaign saw the same thing when they looked @ the footage later.

16. If it wan't for all the...
shit flinging that goes on I would not have learned nearly as much as I have. Every lie, every smear, every mis-representation has led me to learn more about a candidate I otherwise would not have known. The drive-by gang-bangs have also revealed what lies beneath the surface of DU posters.

A great deal of intelligence can be invested in ignorance when the need for illusion is deep.
