Serious question about electoral politics.
I ask this with an attempt to leave out my own bias re: the candidates, but in regard to the process at hand-

Why do you expect the candidates to come out with positions and 'solutions' for every damn thing that is wrong before they are elected?
I mean, it is lovely to think that they (whomever) will sweep into office, and wave their magic wand and transform the government as they see fit, but it just isn't so-

I don't want a president with all the answers before they are even elected. I want one with a brain to understand the ever changing facts in front of them, and be able to make far-sighted judgements about how events are likely to unfold. One who grasps cause and effect, essentially.

Sure, I want to know where they stand on ethical and moral issues. Abortion comes to mind. The constitution. Equal rights. Environment. Energy. International relations.

But why would I want a career politician writing my health care plan?! WTF?! Is this in the job description?

and neutron, if you cant write something original, keep it to yourself.

1. Are you watching these elections? People *don't*. They go on personality, looks, perception.
They don't go on the issues. Were that only the case!

No offense. seriously.

Of course it would be nice if Joe and Jane Citizen paid attention to the election and issues. But knowing the issues does not mean that a we should have all the answers before they are even elected.

As we know, election promises mean little anyway.

I suspect that most voters vote on character, and I don't know they are wrong.
I just wish they would assess these things beyond the 10pm news and USA Today...

3. I wanna know
So, after I hear all the lies, I can determine which one is lying the most. I multiply that by how many times they repeat each lie during the campaign, then divide it by the amount of times they are called an idiot. Then they are listed in reverse alphabetical order, and I pick one based on how many letters they have in their name. Very scientific!

4. That sounds about as logical as most of the posts in here.
