We're in trouble: Hillary splits the nation-Barack splits the party...
What in the HELL are we going to do in the Fall? The candidate , whoever it is will need to focus completely on the republicans in order to win the General, yet how cna they do that while at the same time trying to heal rifts in their own party. A substantial percentage(and yes 2-3% is substantial this year) of both candidates supporters are extreme in their dislike of the other. Extreme things are difficult to overcome and require resources and time...resources and time absolutely needed in order to win in November. Think about this folks, it is reality!

1. Obama splits the party? It's your impression that Hillary supporters wouldn't support Obama?
That's distressing.

I guess we're in for another decade of shit.

3. Would we be either way?
Hillary has some great plans but, to my current knowledge or lack thereof, has said nothing about job creation. You know, that tiny little step necessary to pay for her plans.

11. Well, since we're being quite frank...
Hillary is totally unelectable. If we're stupid enough to nominate her, we've got a Republican in the White House. Period.

But, if Hillary supporters would rather stay home than accept their loss, then it looks like we'll be in our comfort zone at least until 2012 -- complaining about a Republican president.

Obama is bringing in the wrong coalition.

I do not want to be propping up repugs and homophobes and red state pandering candidates.

4. You shouldn't be buying into that rightwing MSM talking point that Hillary splits the nation
but I do agree Obama is splitting our party. That much is obvious by all the hatred and vitriol spewn here by so many of his supposed supporters towards other Democrats.

15. I'd say, "You've got to be kidding me!", but I see who you are, and you aren't kidding.
After Hillary's insanity about forcing enlistment into health insurance yesterday, she's done. The GOP will have all the ammunition they need to blow her out of the water.

Are you Hillary supporters happy in your misery? I guess so.

5. The ONLY Obvious Answer Is Dump "The Dividers" and Nominate The ONLY Unifying Candidate John Edwards
The Whole Plan to use Barack as a Firewall Between Hillary and ANY Other Opponent Is Backfiring in a Big Way... The ONLY path to Unity is to Treat Both Fan bases Equally.... That is Neither WINS at the expense of the other and we move forward w/ a Truly "UNIFYING" Candidate, John Edwards...... :)

20. absolutely and thank you..you do have it figured out correctly and 100% right..
glad to see someone figured it out..

and that firewall has now stabbed a certain candidate in the back ..and is taking her steam..

but he does have his problems down the road that could be a bombshell..in Rezko..and that whole fiasco..so he is not out of the woods by any means..i believe the surface has just been scratched..and the media is sitting on it as ordered by Rove in the shadows..

23. MSM ignored Edwards because he was the only candidate
who historically had beat McCain and Romney in the polls.

6. I know for me
I will have a hard time voting for him. I have been reading as much as I can about both candidates and I just don't like him. I don't know. I might come around if he is the nominee but I don't know.

13. well obama is doing a great job splitting the party check this out..
this disgusted me...when i woke up this morning an Edwards person i worked on the ground with in SC sent it to me..

TIME- video of Obama Sun. mocking Edwards

http://thepage.time.com/2008/02/03/obama-forgets-edward... /
Uses old gibe about debate answer Sunday to mock former rival whose supporters he is supposed to be courting.
What a nice touch- mocking Edwards for his debate admission that his compassion for the poor is also his weakness.

Obama is making my decisions for me..

Look in Iowa ..Edwards Campaign slogan was "change"..Obama's was "HOPE" all Obama's signs and everything were Hope..then they move to New Hampshire..he stole Johns Slogan of Change..with out a blink..with no conscience and stuck it to John...

i am done with that little wheezle..

i just may stay home in Nov..

yes Obama is making my decision easier for me by the day!!

and to think i thought i was really leaning to him when John Suspended his campaign..not now..and not ever.

17. No evidence that "Obama splits the party"
Primaries are always contentious. It's difficult when your candidate doesn't
get the nomination.

However, our party will coalesce around Obama.

On what are you basing your opinion...the vitriolic attitudes on blogs and messageboards? Come on.

Have you noticed that Dem voter turnout has increased 100 percent in most of the states that have had
their caucus/elections? This is unprecedented. The Republicans are not enjoying numbers like this.
Our party is all ready excited, engaged and on fire--as NEVER before.

18. The Bush Clintons are the ones who have divided this country for 28 years
It's amazing how so many people still ignore the obvious.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results.

Albert Einstein said that. Who do you think he would be voting for?

21. Hillary still polls 18 points higher among registered democrats
this could be a clue as to why some want independents, and not registered deomocrats, to make the final decision as to who the democratic's party nominee is.

Today: Among registered voters who say they will vote or have already voted in a Democratic primary in states holding contests Tuesday, Clinton leads Obama by 49% to 31%

22. The party is not split. The party will certainly rally around the nominee.
And if the nominee is Obama, we'll grab Indies and moderate Repubs and win in a landslide. If it's Hillary, she'll have to work extra-hard to try to appeal to enough of them to win, but she'll put forth a concerted effort (although I'd BETTER not see her trying to move to the right or start sounding like a hawk).
