1. Unfortunately, Kucinich had the only workable Health care plan... take it from |
|
a doctor who has to deal with ins. companies all the time.

2. Correct. I am hoping that even if one of their rather poor plans |
|
is what gets implemented that this just makes it easier for us to eventually get to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HR_676">HR 676.

3. I've long dreamed of Nat. Healthcare, but 2 things must happen for it to pass... |
|
Edited on Mon Feb-04-08 09:58 AM by HereSince1628
1) Health Industry must be able to GROW its profit from its implementation 2) It must be cost neutral to the upper class.
These 2 practical requirements from "the powers that be" have prevented national health insurance action in Congress for as long as I can remember.

4. Depends on the Congress she has to get it through |
|
We'd probably have to pick up at least 5-10+ seats in the House and 2+ seats in the Senate for the plan to have a chance, assuming, of course, that the Repubs don't filibuster.

5. I think she will sign what Congress passes. |
|
It will be a compromise, as every piece of important legislation is, and any Democratic president, Clinton or Obama, will sign it.

6. The only viable plan eliminates health insurance companies, and she won't propose it. |
|
The only plan that could pass Congress will simply continue to enrich the donors and lobbyists and will not help us at all.

7. Any healthcare plan worth passing |
|
is going to be fought by the pugs.
We might as well take them on for what Americans need and deserve.
When we introduce the right kind of plan, and they filibuster, half their own party will oppose them.
If we do the right thing and win. The reign of greed will be all but over. If we lose, at least we dont pass another freakin medicare drug plan fiasco.

9. Virtually any policy statement by any candidate is dead on arrival |
|
once it hits congress. THAT is the essential problem, and the reason that many are supporting Obama. As long as there is no 60 vote majority in the Senate, and gridlock is still thriving, nothing will get done. We truly need someone to bring these two parties together to start working on the people's business.
So yeah, Hillary's plan is DOA once it hits congress. It won't go anywhere unless she can get republican support.

It depends on congress... there is a limit to what a president can arm-twist or get votes with favors to Congresspeople.
