Dean believes, "Yes We Can!"
As I posted before and will post again.

There is no Dean/Obama rift. The exact opposite is true actually. It is widely accepted that Dean's position as head of the DNC beyond November is dependant on Obama winning the nomination, even given his amazingly effective execution of a 50-state strategy. Like the battle raging now for our nomination, blood has been spilled between Dean and the DLC.

The chorus of cynics is becoming louder and more dissonant. And as power realizes the true seriousness with which change is confronting it, anything will be said; even at times cloaked in feigned ingnorance of the truth.

In '06 Dean didn't take back the congress. He made us believe we could take back our congress. I am confident too that were he not heading the DNC he would express his belief that Obama will make ordinary Americans realize that more than taking back the White House, ordinary Americans can also take back our vision of the great things that are possible and our steely resolve to make it happen.

How bittersweet that, unlike certain leaders of my party for whom my years of continued support has caused me great anguish, the two greatest inspirers of my beliefs place the integrity of the office which they hold and of the party they fight for above the MSM's thirst for strife and division by withholding their endorsements.

Know this my fellow DUers. Dean's campaign didn't die with a scream. It died weeks before on December 1st, 2003 when Dean said this to Tweety.

“Yes, we’re going to break up giant media enterprises.”

Part of me cringed when I heard this knowing it was the end and that the MSM would tear him limb from limb for even suggesting it. And part of me smiled to hear something that most ordinary Americans knew should be done yet most pundits knew was a death sentence to utter.

Obama speaks to the part of me that smiled.

Wow. I should quote myself more often.

2. Hmm and which candidate made that an issue? Not Obama. That Candidate was pressured to quit. Hmm.

3. I agree Edward was THE candidate on this issue.
I'm hoping Obama taps Edwards. I would love an Obama/Dean ticket but he's just doing too much good heading the DNC.

7. nothing in common with obama?!?!?!
“The one thing I do not argue with (Obama) about is he believes deeply in change and I believe deeply in change. And anytime you're fighting for that, I mean, I didn't hear these kinds of attacks from Senator Clinton when she was ahead. Now that she's not, we hear them.” Edwards

“Senator Clinton doesn’t represent change and Senator Obama and I do, so we start at a good place." Edwards

Edited on Mon Feb-04-08 02:35 PM by jackson_dem
Kerry lost because he was a horrible candidate. Kerryites need to stop blaming others for Kerry's chokejob against the worst president ever.

The chance I have to vote for Edwards is 0 is Obama and Clinton have any common sense. Kerry is my senator. And I was only trying to adapt to the level of comprehension of the DUer I was answering to.

31. The chorus of cynism will not use logic.
I too regard Edwards' withdrawal as a loss for our party. If the last two standing were Obama and Edwards, I think the severely pressing issues that face us as Americans might actually get addressed to a degree.

I mean any degree at all would be nice at this point.

We know she won't tap Obama and this is as healing a move she could make towards the Obama camp.

Totally different experience (and audio feed). He lifted my hope which had been stung badly by his third place showing. Didn't catch the drama until I woke up the next day. Sigh.
