Some of Hollywood's films are not so hot, but others are splendid. If you saw Meryl Streep in OUT OF AFRICA, my guess is you have a pretty good sense of the character she played. The woman cracks a mean whip.

Those ticket-buyers fill theaters in Omaha and Dayton, in Charlotte and St. Cloud. We like a good story. We like a good story well told.

Frank Rich of the NYTIMES gets the association of U.S. culture to power. He's awfully good at the audience-to-politician construct. Any politician who taps into that energy is likely making a good move, IMO.
