ABC: Michelle Obama says she will support the nominee.
http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/Vote2008/Story?id=4238250&page=2

"She said that if Hillary Clinton bests her husband for the Democratic nomination, she'd support the nominee
"Everyone in this party is going to work hard for whoever the nominee is. I think we're all working for the same thing. Our goal is to make sure the person in the White House is going to take this country in a different direction. I happen to believe Barack is the only person who can really do that," she said.

1. Its sad that the spouse of a Democratic Candidate
even has to say that. Who else would she vote for? Huckabee?

9. She opened that door up so she had to shut it herself
While there may have been some "spin" involved, it was she who put a top on the table and handed the media the string to pull to begin with.

7. I know if this sort of stuff keeps up from the Hillary camp, I and others will sit out the election!
This is getting beyond ridiculous. If you can't win an election by being above board and honest and by sticking to the issues, then you don't deserve to represent the people of this country.

18. I have. HRC supporters are becoming increasingly nasty and are engaging in dirty little games.
I'm fed up frankly.

2. She also made that other comment. I almost fell off my chair when I heard it.
The other stuff was a bit of a backtrack, but there was a harshness to her tone when she made that "problematic" remark.

14. They are going to rerun that interview on NIGHTLINE. It wasn't mischaracterized.
And if they don't cut it to shit, you'll see that Mrs. Obama didn't do her husband ANY favors with that portion of the interview.

The interviewer was gunning for some contentious commentary, but she should not have risen to the bait. She did. And then, she wouldn't shut up. It sounded both harsh AND personal.

17. I was there for her awesome Speech at the Rally
yesterday.

She is her husband's equal as a Speaker and that is a high bar to reach.

She is also down to earth, brilliant and passionate about her husband and this country.

I'm sure there will be those who will jump all over anything that comes out of the mouth of anyone connected to the Obama campaign.

In the lead up to the campaign,I want to believe that all of us are tired and working non stop for the candidate of our choice -- I'm sure that Michelle Obama is tired this morning.

She was FIRED UP and Ready to go when I had the joy of attending the Rally yesterday.

Got to go ~ after reading some of the negatives on this thread, I am totally motivated to make 100 more phone calls today for OBAMA!

:bounce:

21. Given that she had never said otherwise, it is not surprising/
Edited on Mon Feb-04-08 02:55 PM by Mass
She was asked if she would WORK to support the nominee if it was not Obama. Given that she is not a political figure, it was a rather silly question.
