The Chorus Of Optimists
America is being told we can do this by a chorus of optimists. We will only grow louder and more harmonious. America is being asked to pause for a possibilty check, warned against lowering our hopes of what some assume is impossible.

But in the unlikely story that is America, there is nothing false about what is possible.

2. Great pic.
I can't wait until this monstrous primary gets to Ohio in a month. That is if our heads haven't all exploded by then.

5. I have a feeling we might be still going in a month!

Preacher Purl: And David put his hand in the bag and took out a stone and slung it. And it struck the Philistine on the head and he fell to the ground. Amen.

45. Largest one-site caucus in history, that Boise caucus.
Regardless of your candidate, every Democrat across America should be proud of those Idahoans showing up last night.

I thought Ohio was the Democratic Wilderness, but damn, looking at Boise is downright inspiring.

... mind if I ask you how old you are, and when you tuned in to the process?

Don't be discouraged. Transformational elections are exciting and frustrating, all at once.

And those who fear change will react from that place, not a place of hope and optimism.

16. Turned 30 in November.
I figured Hillary was our nominee until I heard Obama was running. I was quite moved by his keynote address at the '04 convention. So I followed him for a bit and realized how amazing it'd be if we actually got this guy as our nominee. I haven't done much to work for it yet, but it looks like Ohio will have a say in this primary after all.

I just hope that the afterlife includes play-by-play with a TiVo remote.

What I wouldn't give to have the tapes of our "fall asleep" conversations in our bunk beds.

And footage of all the different ways it's possible to terrorize a little brother from the top bunk.

P.S. I plan to call him bright and early in the morning, to pick his brain, and to see what he thinks will happen in the WV GOP race tomorrow, too. Dem primary there in May.

P.P.S. How was work?

49. We're roughly the same age (I'm 31)...
...and roughly the same timeline.

I figured Clinton would run, and win, and be somewhat better than whatever jackass the GOP put forth. I liked Edwards, and worked for him, but felt like everybody else he just wasn't getting a connection.

Then I stumbled into an Obama speech in Chicago, and realized I didn't have to settle for this anymore.

Where? There's a group like that here in Metro DC that my partner and I support. They focus mostly on those living with HIV/AIDS. Being shut in with Crohn's sometimes, I know the value of a little company and a good meal. I'm sure you bring a lot of joy and hope into people's lives.

"astronomy"

Jinx! Have you seen http://www.space.com/spacewatch/080125-ns-moon-planets.html">the convergence? I wonder what that might portend for Obama? I get a kick out of astrology, too, but mostly as a mnemonic for astronomy. "people"

"leisure"

Hop on over to The Lounge. Some good stuff there.

"love"

And who is the lucky gal/guy?

"music"

Oh, hella yeah! As my best friend from college can now parrotphrase perfectly, from all the times I told him: "If you're not living your life with a soundtrack running through your head, you ain't livin' right."

34. Thought you might appreciate that.
As for Gore: I can't spell the yearning groan I just made. It has a tinge of frustration in it, but it trails off into a sort of verbal shrug of understanding.

I get it.

He's got stature.

He's got street cred.

Right now, he looks like the Regent of the Party.

While we're subjected to the Madness of King Bill, and the Merry ...

*cough*

That doesn't end well.
