Mass. Poll: Barack Obama (46 percent) leads Hillary Clinton (44 percent)

Obama & Clinton Deadlocked in Mass.

2/4/2008

Barack Obama (46 percent) leads Hillary Clinton (44 percent) by a razor-thin margin among likely Democratic voters, according to a poll released today by 7NEWS/Suffolk University. Seven percent of Democratic and independent voters were undecided. However, 27 percent of Democratic voters and 24 percent of Republican voters say they may change their minds before tomorrow.

Obama was strong among men (49 percent-to-30 percent), independents (43 percent-to-35 percent), in Middlesex & Essex counties (46 percent-to-36 percent) and among voters ages 18-45 years (55 percent-to-31 percent). Clinton’s areas of strength contrasted sharply with Obama’s: She led among women (52 percent-to-35 percent), in the Worcester/West area (52 percent-to-34 percent) and among voters ages 66 years and up (59 percent-to-26 percent).

Per Suffolk’s release, 43% of people said Sen. Ted Kennedy was the most influential endorsement (Bill Clinton got 23%). The poll was taken Feb. 1-3 and has a margin of error +/- 4.9%.

10. It seems Obama has over taken Hillary...
In a handful of states just in the last couple of days - including CA. (in some polls).

I wonder if his wave has crested at the perfect time for an historic Super Tuesday? Ya know, it feels like that is exactly what's happening.

GoBama!

4. in othe Mass. poll news
Mitt Romney is getting his ass handed to him by John McCain. How sad, in a state that the guy used to govern he isn't even popular.

11. At the wire, Clinton 56%, Obama 39%.

Obama Closes on Clinton, But Doesn't Catch Her, Eve of Massachusetts Democratic Primary: 24 hours till votes are counted in Massachusetts, Barack Obama has late momentum against Hillary Clinton, and has gained ground while Clinton has remained flat, according to SurveyUSA's final pre-primary tracking poll, conducted for WBZ-TV Boston. At the wire, Clinton 56%, Obama 39%. The size of Clinton's victory will determine how many of Massachusetts' 121 delegates she takes to the Democratic National Convention. Obama leads by 20 among men. Clinton leads by 42 among women. A 62-point Gender Gap. Among voters under age 50, the contest is tied. Among voters age 50+, Clinton leads by 29. The number of young voters will determine how well Obama does relative to Clinton. If new, younger, first-time voters show-up in disproportionately large numbers, Obama may out-perform his 39% showing here.
