We shouldn't negotiate with Muslims. |
|
They won't stop attacking us. There's no common ground. There's no point in trying to make peace with them. They're all out to destroy us.
It's naive to think otherwise.
Now, replace "Muslims" with "Republicans".

2. You should edit that maybe. |
|
I haven't heard anyone say we shouldn't talk with muslims. Perhaps you meant terrorist/jihadi muslims intent on violent acts against innocent people?

nor republican.
however, I bristle at the implication that "muslim" equals terrorist. and I don't think it does anything to help your other point, much.

6. I cannot support Christopher Walken, even if he wins the nomination. I'd vote Temperance. |
|
And if you knew me, you'd know what a huge personal sacrifice a vote for the Temperance Party would be.

8. I think you mean extremists in both regimes... |
|
Extremist Muslims. Extremist Republicans. That is a very, very important qualification. Otherwise, you sound like an unbending, unthinking, Extremist Republican;)

Replace it with Palestinians or fundies of any stripe or, or, or...
However, if applied to the "Globalized Elite," we get an entirely different picture.

Have we learned nothing? The RRRW should have taught us that there is no negotiating with some people. For them it is their way or no way at all. We cannot work with them and anybody who thinks we can is naive.

17. There are parallels between Rethugs and Muslim fanatics |
|
* They both believe they have the one true way
* They both think that disagreeing with dogma makes you an infidel
* They both prefer belief over facts
* They are willing to kill large numbers of innocent people to attain their ideological goals
Questions?

15. You hit on a very astute point about human psychology |

and how in-group, out-group bias works.
Fundamentally, a lot of this is just tribalism. Even the disputes between the Hillary and Obama supporters.

People who think the OP is slamming muslims OR republicans are missing it.
It's supposed to be a comment on the tone of the posts today. If you just got here, you've missed a lot.
