Neither is a perfect candidate, but I can realistically get behind either. I respect and trust the democratic process in the Democratic Party. I have a preference for the primaries (stated elsewhere, but irrelevant to this thread). But if my candidate doesn't pull it off, I am certain that the winner will do everything necessary to unify our party. I am equally certain that the second place finisher will fully support the nominee in achieving that goal.

With far more at stake that the challenges we face this year, Benjamin Franklin in 1787 said of our new constitution what I will say of our party's nomination if it doesn't go the way I want:

The opinions I have had of its errors I sacrifice to the public good. I hope therefore, for our sakes as a part of the people, and for the sake of our posterity, that we shall act heartily and unanimously in recommending this constitution wherever our influence may extend, and turn our future thoughts and endeavors to the means of having it well administered.

The Democratic candidate gets my support in the GE, no matter who he or she ends up being.

I think either will make a fine candidate and a fine president. I just prefer one over the other.

7. Good luck, Bucky. I tried it right after the last debate people on DU would rather lose than give in
Donchya worry, though. No matter what happens here, I'll be pulling for either Obama or Hillary, whichever gets the nod.

8. ME THREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, may 7 or 8. But the spirit is there.

100% agreement.

Perhaps if there are enough of these threads, SOME sanity will return. I ardently believe that the hostile energy in here would be better served as positive campaigning through door-to-door and phone activities in the critical days before each state primary.

I know that's MY plan!!!!

13. Yay! That's the spirit!
I know it's not easy now. Should our guy have to stand up for her and declare his support, it'll be an easy pill to swallow. With the race this close, I hope you find consolation in that you have an opposite number on Clinton's side willing to pinch nostrils for Obama.

Once the choice comes down to Republican vs Democrat, the choice will seem so much clearer.
