Howard Wolfson: This may go to the convention
Howard Wolfson: This may go to the convention
by: Matt Stoller
Mon Feb 04, 2008 at 16:47

I'm on a conference call with Mark Penn and Howard Wolfson of the Clinton campaign, and they are emphasizing how this contest is going to go beyond Tuesday, and may go until the convention. Wolfson is discussing party rules and proportional representation, and says that these rules have trumped the intended front-loading of the primaries to pick a nominee early on.

... Wolfson would not confirm the $10M January number.

1. That would be a nightmare.
Absolute nightmare. The republicans would have a 6 month head start. The idea scares me.

2. I hope it does not get that far
because the Repubs will be ahead and the Superdelegates will have more power. UGH.

3. They're not gonna win tomorrow
I'm doing a little dance here.

The only reason he'd start saying this is that he knows they're in trouble. This is not low-balling for tomorrow only, this is changing the paradigm all together.

:bounce:

7. this is weird. Am I the only one getting a zero-response poll result in my responses here?
Edited on Mon Feb-04-08 07:04 PM by Bucky
Is this a coding fluke? A sign of heavy traffic? As of this post, all the responses in this thread have a "Poll Results" box in them. How odd. (Unless it's just something my computer browser is doing).

(on edit) Never mind, the fluke went away... But man, was that quirky.

4. $10 million what?
$10 million raised in January or $10 million left on hand?

5. I hope it does. With 20% undecided people need more time to examine these two
