McAuliffe thinks Obama would be a strong Vice Presidential candidate, has “excited so many people"

--- Bugger off, smarmy Terry. Hillary would be so lucky. ---

Transcript of McAuliffe on NY1

In an interview on NY1’s “Inside City Hall,” Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman says he thinks Barack Obama would be a strong Vice Presidential candidate should Clinton win the Democratic presidential nomination.

Terry McAuliffe tells NY1 Political Anchor Dominic Carter that Obama has “excited so many people” and that he should be strongly considered as a vice presidential candidate.

Here is an excerpt on the interview that will air at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. on “Inside City Hall”:

McAuliffe: “But clearly Barack Obama has shown that he can excite people. She needs to make sure the next, whoever the Vice President is, could take over if anything happened to her. But it’s early for us to be talking about Vice President. But let me tell you this, I sat in that Kodak Theater the other day, I was there in Los Angeles. I flew out with Hillary, I went to the event, I sat in that audience, and Dominic to sit there and look at that stage - the two finalists, African-American and a woman of the Democratic Party - I think that was exciting. I think that’s exciting for the Party for our country, and I think it’s exciting for the world.”

Carter: “So it might be a good idea to put him on the ticket?”

McAuliffe: “Sure it would be, absolutely. How could you deny consideration of someone who has excited so many people?”

1. It HURTS Obama to push this bogus storyline.
Gives people the false hope that they can vote for Clinton and get Obama too.

That's why McAwful is pushing it.

6. Well, That's A Shock Coming From
McAuliffe. Sure, that would be just dandy, and Obama can take the closet office in the basement, while Bill moves into the VP office.

9. More Clintonian political gaming...
Sorry Terry, two's company, threes a crowd. Ask Al Gore what it would be like on that ticket and in a new Clinton administration. If Hillary wins--Barack should stay in the Senate.

15. re
I agree that this a ploy to get voters to vote for Clinton thinking they have a good chance of getting Obama. Well, it's not going to happen.

17. SO obsequious...and peeps here call Obama arrogant...
they are so convinced that in an either/or choice, they lose, and so are trying to peddle "both".

Does HRC really think she can win the nomination by telling people they can get her increasingly popular opponent on the ticket by electing her? There is another way to get Obama on the ticket Hillary...
