I am going to make this Comment as Positive as Possible ... Because It Is Important!
With Super Tuesday occurring tomorrow, and the heightened level of sniping that comes with a close race like that expected between Obama and Clinton, we need to take a step back and refocus on the big picture.

I believe Obama AND Clinton are going to need the support of ALL OF US in the General Election if they become the Democratic Nominee.

Each has flaws and deficiencies that will be exploited by conscience-free Republicans. And you might as well be prepared for lots of 'negative' information to be flooding out of the MSM outlets.

If this Nomination race is extended to the Convention and Super Delegates become the deciding votes, there is going to be a large schism which will have to be closed for a united Democratic Party to support the eventual nominee.

I believe Progressive Democrats need to remember that we have to hang together if we are going to have an opportunity to fix the many disasters that the Bush Administration has visited on all of us.

Just remember... we may not get the Eventual Nominee we individually thought was best, but a Democratic Nominee of any stripe is tremendously better than another Republican. And they are going to need all of us to win the General Election....

That is the prize we must keep our eyes upon!

3. I hope that Obama has a miraculous Tuesday and emerges as the nominee. Then
Democrats will come together, and many Independents and Moderate Republicans will join with us!

If HRC wins the nomination the Republicans will come out in force to destroy her, and McCain will be our next President.

Sorry to rain on your parade. And I mean that sincerely.

11. I have to agree...

I would vote for Hillary over McCain, but I fear that McCain may have far more crossover appeal.

12. If you think Obama will get a free ride, you haven't been
paying attention to the Republican way of doing things.

My memory only goes back to Nixon winning his Senate race by falsely accusing the Dem incumbent of being a communist.

I thought that there was no way the Repubs could tarnish Kerry's actual war record. Was I ever wrong.

Those emails about Obama being a Muslim are no accident.

However, I will support Obama OR Hillary to the fullest extent possible in the general.

16. Do you believe in miracles?
I have been wrestling with the "electability" issue and I feel strongly- both ways. The level of Hillary-hating out there is astonishing but I'm not sure that it means very much. Hating Hill is almost mandatory in blue collar right-wing circles. However, I believe 90+ % of these people will also not vote for Obama if he becomes the candidate. Their breast beating is "sound and fury signifying nothing..."

I also think the myriad Hillary attacks have had a vaccinating effect. The long history of these attacks makes each new one less credible. And Hillary's people have seen so many they know what to expect, where it is coming from, and how to deal with it. If Obama is the candidate he will get the full Swift Boat- Willie Horton- Vince Foster treatment. Count on it.

6. Problem
Not only do we have collateral damage resulting from crazies from Obama and Clinton camps (along with outside help) it probably won't be over tomorrow! The delegate numbers may not conclusively be there to end the wackiness yet.

18. Put a Picture of Bush beside Obama or Clinton as the Dem Nominee & Ask a Dem to vote....
.... and we should get almost 100% voting for the Democratic Nominee regardless of whether it is Obama or Clinton.

If that is where we are headed in the General Election, we should begin to close ranks now. To do otherwise just makes the next 'Bush Republican Nominee' possible.

p.s. I do hope the Democratic Nominee will refer to the Republican Nominee as a 'Bush endorsed Republican' (ie. "I could not disagree more with John McCain, a Bush endorsed Republican Nominee").

We need to remind the public constantly that Bush is the Republican who has damaged our country, and that he has endorsed the Republican Nominee.
