Negative Romney Ad joins McCain with Hillary Clinton
Viewers are asked to imagine a debate between Mr. McCain and Mrs. Clinton. We see cartoon podiums with the two candidates’ faces on them.

“On amnesty for illegal immigrants, they agree,” says an announcer as Mr. McCain’s podium takes a jump — to the left, of course — toward that of Mrs. Clinton.

As the issues are brought up, Mr. McCain’s lectern keeps narrowing the space between them while the Clinton podium nervously tries to twist away. Finally, Mr. McCain’s podium jumps into Mrs. Clinton’s, creating one half-McCain, half-Clinton podium (with a very strange face).

If that weren’t harsh enough, the ad ends with a zinger (well, a zinger to conservatives): audio of former President Bill Clinton saying last month, “She and John McCain are very close.”

“Don’t we need a leader who agrees with us?” the announcer concludes.
