From the grave: Molly Ivins on Hillary Clinton
I hadn't seen this for a while. I've seen some Ivins avatars around. Thought I'd share.

"Enough. Enough triangulation, calculation and equivocation. Enough clever straddling, enough not offending anyone This is not a Dick Morris election. Sen. Clinton is apparently incapable of taking a clear stand on the war in Iraq, and that alone is enough to disqualify her. Her failure to speak out on Terri Schiavo, not to mention that gross pandering on flag-burning, are just contemptible little dodges."

5. "from the grave"?
I'm pretty sure she was alive when she wrote that.

She supported Nader, too. I love Molly, but she wasn't infallible.

6. Have you ever considered
that highlighting your candidates positives is infinitely more productive than trashing the opposition?

And really, who can really say what Molly would think if she were alive today?

I find your message petty and desperate.

11. I'm sorry you feel that way. I thought linking the thoughts
of important Democrats regarding the candidates was part of the information that should be available on a board like this. This was Molly being Molly and I thought it interesting in the current context. I did not slam a candidate personally .... if you know my posts I'm just a numbers guy, not an opinionator

This thread which has been so often recommended that it now leads the "greatest page" was kind of my guideline that this was accepted practice

but she liked Edwards because of his populist streak.

She would not have liked Obama either

12. Molly on Edwards
John Edwards in the early appearances struck me as almost a little too pretty, a little lite. But he's got a populist streak I like--his daddy spent thirty-seven years working in a North Carolina mill, and Edwards ain't forgot it. Seemed to me he might develop. In a recent speech at Georgetown University, the sumbitch hit a home run. (Look it up.)
