Is Huckabee about to get Edwarded? |
|
The media is starting to ignore him and now there is talk about him "taking" votes from Romney. I couldn't care less what happens to Huckabee but it is disturbing how much influence the corporate owned media has on our political choices, and hence ultimately the government's policies.

tomorrow in the South.. mark my words.
Huckabee has been in Tennessee bitching about how presumptuous Mitten's is to think folks voting for him would vote for Willard...
And he's right. These fundies ain't voting for no Mormon!

4. They're not exactly "starting" to ignore him. |
|
He's always been something of a novelty, I think. Like a catchy, one-hit-Iowa-wonder. He's quirky, he plays along (and plays bass guitar!), and even suffers through Joe Scarborough whenever Joe feels like making a monkey out of him.
As weird as I find Huckabee, I had momentary affection for his campaign, and I feel more sorry for him than most. I do think I'll always remember Iowa 2008 in two moments: Huckabee on Road To The White House, talking to farmers in a barn about the morality of parole, and Obama's landmark victory speech later that night.
What a ride it's been. I can't believe it's Super Tuesday already.

5. They read the polls too |
|
In fact, much of their coverage seems to reflect the most recent polls.

and I absolutely agree on the principle. Edwards, Biden and Dodd, in particular, suffered from being ignored by the media, and Clinton and Obama, IMO, are and have been the "front runners" due to the media building that perception.
That said, anything that gets Huckabee out of the race, I can't be unhappy about. IMO, he's worse by far than Willard and McCain. Anyone who wants to turn the nation into a theocracy is a serious threat, IMO. The incident with his dog-mutilator son also makes him unfit for public office, as far as I'm concerned.
