An Obama Sweep?
This is a must read...MUST READ...for Obama supporters who would like to get some good sleep tonight. Be cautious though. Don't get over confident. Remember New Hampshire.

Could Barack Obama "close the deal" on Super Tuesday?

When almost two dozen states are voting, the Democratic presidential campaigns of both Illinois Senator Obama and New York Senator Hilllary Clinton are prepared to spin things their way. That means that the best bet going into "Super Tuesday" is that it will be a wash, with both campaigns finding enough good news to carry on through the primaries and caucuses of February.

There is no way at this point that Clinton can win the day decisively. Obama had built too many firewalls in southern and western states.

But could Clinton lose the day? Possibly, and that's what to watch for on Tuesday.

Let's be clear that only something akin to a sweep would be enough to force the once-inevitable Clinton campaign to accept the new inevitability of Obama as the likely Democratic nominee and Clinton as also-ran. Patterns of early voting that favor Clinton argue against such a scenario. But Obama's late surge in states across the country keeps the possibility open enough to be worthy of discussion.

8. Obama is not the underdog. He has the media on his side
and the media is the most powerful tool a candidate can have on his side.

Hillary Clinton is the underdog. She has the left, right and center media against her.

15. CNN is deifnitely for Hillary over Obama, she also has the NYT on her side
I wouldn't say the media has picked Obama. MSNBC definitely slants Obama.

22. The NYT on Clinton's side? lmao
It looks like you don't read Maureen Dowd, Frank Rich, Bob Herbert and David Brooks. Oh, and Bill Kristol.
They are OBSESSED with her. But oh wait, One day readers learned that the NYT endorsed Obama, in an article that was more critical of HER than it was of him, so that must mean they are with her.

No.

Most of NYT content is anti-Hillary.

Did you read the non-story about the Kazakhstan miner? Where do you think it was published? That's right. New York Times.

7. I Think That Just A Tie Or Better Would Be A Big Win For Obama
That would clearly show that he has the momentum, and show that Clinton is not at all inevitable.

14. I agree, but the topic of this thread is a sweep.
I don't see a sweep, but a 2/3 win would be considered a big win.

9. nope
Because of the delegate rules, I doubt neither of them will run away with it. I'd be shocked if there's more than a 100 delegate difference at the end of the night.

10. Only if We MAKE THE CALLS
Tomorrow, 22 states across the country are holding Democratic caucuses and primaries.

You can help Get Out The Vote in these crucial contests by calling fellow supporters from your own home.

Use our online calling tool and make a difference today:

http://my.barackobama.com/feb5calls

When Michelle and I talked about my running for president, one of the core goals we both had for this campaign was to leave the political process better off than we found it.

You have challenged conventional thinking and built a grassroots movement for change that is sweeping this country.

I have no doubt that the election tomorrow will be close, but you can help ensure that as many people as possible participate.

Make calls using our online calling tool and help Get Out The Vote:

http://my.barackobama.com/feb5calls

I believe that this movement for change can do more than just win an election. Together, we can transform this country.

Thank you for being part of this,

Barack

I like the "low expectations game" - it's interesting the psychological games people are playing tonight.

26. "Has been down" has no meaning at this time
As of now, he is expected to win 12-14 states out of 22 tomorrow. All candidates start at "0" and work their way from there. Less known candidates that don't have a built in base (i.e. Hillary) don't get an instant boost out of the gate (has been), but time tends to work in the favor of the newer, less known candidate.

But it would be great to break even with Hillary in delegates - although that's a longshot as well.
