Oprah's "endorsement" won't change one thing in this race, and here's why

Oprah Winfrey is best known for interviewing celebrities, not for her superior judgment, or for her analysis of American culture, or understanding of American politics. Americans like Oprah because she's about as smart as the average American, and poses inquisitive questions, many times to talentless celebrities or psychic day show hacks, that mirror the curiosity of the average person.

Oprah sees herself as a leader, but she misinterprets the success of her show as a indicator people look up to her for advice. Americans also enjoy Larry King interviews, or Katie Couric interviews, all for the same reason; the questions are posed from people without much in-depth knowledge of the issues.

No American waited for Oprah to tell them for whom to vote. This will be proven in a few short hours, when the steam is hissed from the last Obama balloon, and Hillary wins a great majority of delegates, and then maybe DU'ers can once again visit the forums without having to sort through the filthy nonsense spewed by Hillary hating Arianna Huffington clones.

3. I never watch her but think that anyone that popular appeals to
a fairly low common denominator.

5. Oprah appeals to women
...but women break for Clinton, so Oprah really is not a factor. NOW took her out of the equation.

6. Was the Kool-Aid good?
The things people tell themselves to convince themselves their candidate is not in trouble.

Oprah matters. She's plugged into the very market Obama most needs to find some new votes. She's hugely important. Your opinion of her will not matter.

7. At Oprah's mention of a book title, the book flies to the top of the best seller list.
Oprah mentions anything else it flies to the sky. Yea right no effect at all.
