Arizona woman talking about John McCain: "He's against torture. I'm pro-torture."
In case anyone forgot how totally fucked-up is the mindset of some of the folks on the other side of the fence, BBC2 TV in England ran a report last night on the run-up to Super Tuesday.

They visited a talk radio station in Arizona where folks were calling in to slam their Senator John McCain because he is - in their eyes - "too liberal".

You can watch the latest edition of Newsnight on this page:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/newsnight/default.stm

Or try opening the player directly:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/player/nol/newsid_4670000/newsid_4679900/4679986.stm?bw=nb&mp=wm&news=1&bbcws=1

The part you are looking for is around 41 minutes in.

The video is low quality but you can hear the sound OK.

WARNING: This video will go offline at around 6.30pm Eastern today (Super Tuesday).

7. Um, sweetie--he's for torture too. He wants all those young Muslims to have as promising a career
as he managed to get out of it.

10. Does this shock you?
Does this blow your mind? That there are folks out there unabashedly "pro-torture"? Because you know for a fact that they're out there.

What shocks me or blows my mind is that these people aren't paraded out front and center in the media and made objects of withering ridicule. But then, if that happened, our country might stray too close to a return of what we're supposed to stand for. Then what kind of a platform would the Republicans run on?

11. It kind of does.
Someone saying "I'm pro-torture" like it was something to be pround of.

It proves there are some seriously sick people who watch too much "24".

Part of the explanation for what happened at Abu Ghraib.

14. Bow-legged? I imagine she'll have a limp at the very least.
Ever seen pictues of those guys whose legs were broken by the North Vietnamese? That's what this woman wants to experience. "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"

16. I live in Arizona. This mindset is typical.
Arizona was also the place where a woman went to jail for the maximum length of time because she drunkenly ran down a biker and then joked about his death.

No surprise to me.
