Mrs. Clinton Has Support in Stronghold of Obama
Idealism used to be the hallmark of young voters, and many of Yale’s undergraduates appear to be supporting the fresh-faced candidate, Senator Barack Obama of Illinois.

But as the campus played host Monday morning to Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, Mr. Obama’s rival for the Democratic presidential nomination, there were plenty of young voters expressing a preference for her as a leader who speaks to their heads, not their hearts.

Mrs. Clinton herself has noted that her brand of politics probably appeals more to issue-oriented policy wonks than class poets and dreamers. Borrowing a line from former Gov. Mario M. Cuomo of New York, she has recently been saying, “You campaign in poetry, but you govern in prose.”

Ron Arpin, 23, said he would take prose any day. Stumping for Mrs. Clinton outside the Yale Child Study Center, where she was holding a round-table discussion with invited participants before an invited audience, Mr. Arpin said he regretted that he was too young to have voted for Bill Clinton and that he was solidly in Mrs. Clinton’s corner in this race.

1. I think he's campaigning in both poetry and prose
Have you noticed the campaign he has assembled?

And attacking him makes his poll numbers go up.

He's not just a pretty face and a good speaker. The guy's got some shrewd judgement about people.

3. I think we'll see Obama's strength in Clinton's stronghold today
when he breaks 40% in New York state.

7. Rethugs are known to change their party affiliation
in order to vote for the weaker candidate in Democratic primaries and switch back for the general.

4. If he were differentiating himself clearly from Clinton...
...he would really be the champion of the young voters that the media are portraying.
