Key Clinton Supporter Predicts Loss In KS
TOPEKA, Kan. -- A key Kansas supporter of Sen. Hillary Clinton is predicting she won't win the Kansas presidential caucuses.

Dan Lykins, state Democratic party treasurer, said Sen. Barack Obama, Clinton's rival for the Democratic presidential nomination, is putting too many resources into Kansas. Obama opened his Kansas campaign headquarters in October and has at least 18 staffers in the state.

Also, Gov. Kathleen Sebelius has endorsed Obama and made a television commercial that began airing last week in Wichita.

Lykins said Clinton supporters are concentrating on getting other Clinton supporters to caucuses, which are at 50 locations around Kansas on Tuesday evening.

7. No it might not go red
For the first time in my life as a voter, we have a good chance to turn Kansas blue.

We have one of the most popular governors in the country. She is a rising star in the Dem party. We are gaining Democrats in the state house in Topeka (Jo Co tripled its Dem representation in 2006). Dem party membership is growing very fast. Our county party events are standing room only.

Hillary is really stupid to write Kansas off. Really stupid.

16. I got a call
I sorta felt bad for snapping at the guy.

I told him I was caucusing for Edwards in the first round. Apparently he did not understand caucuses. That there is a second round and he felt the need to tell me that Edwards has dropped out. I am sure my tone sounded like "So? You don't need to fu$%ing remind me."

Does Hillary have an office up your way? She opened one in KCMO but there is no evidence of her campaign over here in KS.

18. it wouldn't make sense to open one here
since we are in the KC metro area. She did have a table at Demofest last fall, and she's running ads on the TV. I have no way of telling where that call came from.

26. Kos is still calling KS for HRC
By I believe about two points. Ridiculous. Obama has a ton of resources in the state and I think the fact that he made an appearance here - the only candidate on either side who has, I believe - made an impression. The Sebelius endorsement was important.

We'll see but it demonstrated to me that Kos doesn't dig terribly deep when he posts his predictions. Still it's a good motivator to get our supporters out tonight.

Some of them seemed really odd to me, even some of the states he called for Obama. My Pomeranian could have probably done the same thing if he could type.

32. 75th & Nall
I wish KS had more caucus locations. The area that'll pull into my caucus is huge and it's probably going to take hours to sort out that many people.
