If you answer yes, let me encourage your immediate emigration to another, more suitable country.

15. That's exactly what you get if you vote for McCain or Nader
another four years of freepers running your country.

I guess you don't get irony, eh?

I have stated, many times, that if HRC is the nominee, I will
find someone else to vote for. It *CERTAINLY* won't be McCain.
It would be extremely unlikely to be Nader. But it will be
someone other than HRC.

At worst, I'll write-in a more-suitable Democrat.

In speaking to many people, I know I'm not alone in this
position, and the Democrats nominate Clinton at their peril;
none of the other candidates in the field seem to provoke
this reaction to any great degree so I remain hopeful that
the national Democrats come to their senses and choose
someone other than HRC as our standard-bearer in 2008.

24. I understand your feelings
and, while I'm not a Hillary supporter either (I'm an Edwards supporter)...I just think that our Supreme Court is too important to give up on.
I can't let my distaste for any particular candidate cloud the very real fact that we will lose, through death or retirement, at least one, if not more, justices in the next few years.
If we have a repuke in office...that's the end of our civil liberties and I think we'll all be left with a country that none of us will recognize.
I truly believe that any possible Democratic nominee will make sure that we have a Supreme Court that stands for justice and the rule of law.
That, above handshakes or haircuts or fairy tales is THE most important thing in this election.

Specific nominee, most likely for some, if not many.

May I suggest you emigrate to say China, where your views are more readily welcome. :patriot:

12. Like India? Plenty of jobs opening up there...
Still, Hillary's "green" jobs is enticing... putting in solar panels on everyone's houses for 40 hrs a week at a wage that won't trash the economy.

Seriously. It's green. It's exercise.

Where's the downside?

14. Anyone who would vote for McCain should read this:
"I may have said something that I don't recall, but the fact is that I have a clear record, both publicly and privately, of saying Alito and Roberts are what we want on the Supreme Court,"

--John McCain

Check out how Roberts and Alito have voted so far.
If that isn't enough to encourage a bit of party
solidarity, no matter how temporary, on Election
Day in November, then if McCain gets in and our civil
rights are further diminished (if that's even possible),
when they come for you, remember, you placed the order
yourself. Not that I would dream of depriving anyone of
that right, but I believe in full disclosure, too. I
don't care who anyone hates, be it HRC or Obama, either
one will appoint SCOTUS judges like Stephen Breyer and
Ruth Bader Ginsburg. McCain? He has told the world in
no uncertain terms what his preferences are of civil
rights, i.e. none.

17. The only way I would even consider voting non-Democrat is if he or she is nominated with
a minority of elected delegates. If our winner does so only with the votes of superdelegates, Michigan and Florida delegates (assuming they don't have a new competitive selection process), then I would have to reevaluate my commitment to our nominee.

I might still vote for him or her, but it would require a lot of struggle. McCain is distasteful, but not as much as Bush, Romney, or Huckabee.

20. Red herring!!
It's not that Democrats might vote against Hillary. It's that they might not show up at all. It's all about motivating voters to show up. You can't do that with a candidate half the party and most of the independents despise.

I live in a blue, blue state whose electors will go Democratic.

Therefore, I may or may not vote for some TP, possibly Nader, and I won't be going anywhere.

38. How nice - calling me stupid
I read the post. But McCain might run better in some blue states than you think, making the election in those states much closer. For example, some internal polls show McCain trailing Barack by 5-6 points in New York, one of the bluest of the blue states. That's one of many problems with third party voting.

I voted and worked for John Anderson (after working for Teddy in the primary) in 1980 and got Ronald Reagan. I'm not interested in making McCain president.
