In fact, based on most of the issues supported here, we should probably ALL be voting for Gravel...

Too bad Gravel doesn't have a billion dollars to run through the primaries and the general election.

I took this quiz a few week ago, before Edwards suspended his campaign. Obama and Clinton tied both time. This time they are on top.

18. I was really stumped on the immigration question. I really have not
formulated much of an opinion. I didn't see an answer on that one that fit me. Don't care about a fence - but want to fine companies that hire. Wish they had, "Focus on the problem of why they come here."

19. not a good test for me
I got Clinton 30, Obama 29. Instead of distinguishing between different Democrats, it just basically determined Democrat over Republican. Covering too many issues without asking much about either the economy, the budget, poor, and working class issues.

disagree with Hillary on line-item veto and the death penalty. With Barack on those two and education. The only one of those three areas not open to more thought/discussion for me is the death penalty.

Edited on Tue Feb-05-08 11:49 AM by va4wilderness
for me. Gravel = 48. Clinton/Obama = 43. McCain = 16. Etc. etc. I question whether these kind of surveys can capture the complexity of one's thought process when picking candidates by the issues. I would much rather they included more issues, allowed you to write in your responses yourself, and would much rather they explained the "why." This survey does not.

25. Clinton 57, Obama 57, Gravel 41
I disagreed with Gravel on these seven issues..Iraq, Immigration, Line-Item Veto, Energy, Death Penalty, Gun Control, and Education. I disagreed with Obama and Clinton only on these three issues Immigration, Gun Control, and Education.

there isn't enough difference between Obama and Clinton to decide on the issues, yet they are two very different choices! :hippie:

My top Republican was Romney who got a 20, and my worst Republican was McCain who got a 6!

27. Correction: Gravel 56%, Hillary 56%, Obama 49%
Bu comparing issues and being surprised to see I agreed with Huckabee on marriage - I realized I answered the wrong question (I expected the amendment to be about civil unions - and answered: "favor") So, i took it again - still, Gravel& Hi;llary tied.
This validated my choice, my vote - thanks!

positions are different. Maybe it's the way you answered the degree of importance?

Like Gravel - against death penalty and Clinton not - guess something else offset that.

Most notably immigration and education. On immigration my position wasn't there. In terms of education, is pay-for-performance, really the top point of contention?

I was forced to choose an answer that was "closest" to my position, instead of my actual position. I agree that the education question should have focused on something more important.
