Illinois GOP feels eclipsed by Obama....
Edited on Tue Feb-05-08 11:37 AM by MoJoWorkin
When they really know Obama---they VOTE Obama!

------------------------------------------------------
From the Tribune yesterday:

Despite a vigorous national fight for the GOP presidential nomination, some of Illinois' leading Republicans fear turnout of their voters on Tuesday could be dampened by a Democratic race featuring a popular favorite son.

"I'm getting calls from committeemen all over the place. They say, 'We've got nothing going to keep our Republicans from voting for Barack,'" said state Rep. Angelo "Skip" Saviano of Elmwood Park, a member of the Republican State Central Committee.

9. southern illinois figures are going to be really interesting
because it`s basically the old south. northwestern illinois will also be interesting because the most conservative republicans are in power from the city to state level.

10. If he appeals to everybody,
he stands for nothing.

I trust that is not the case.

5. The Illinois GOP should feel eclipsed by Jiminy Cricket.
(But Gov. Blagojevich is working on that.)

6. That story was HUGE in 2006 when he won the senate.
But, I guess he was running against alan keyes.

Still people all over the state love Obama.

8. Purple Haze!!
As Obama appeals to those Republicans who have a smattering of blue in their make up. I'll call them Maria Shriver Republicans.

This could land a big blow against the War Party. We need a landslide to bring in not just a new president, but a new congress that is driven to be better. I have been thoroughly disappointed by Pelosi and Reid, whom I consider to be surrender monkeys of the first order.
