"Big day tomorrow. Vote early, vote often.

Based on what I've been reading I predict Hillary Clinton's going to lose.

She'll probably wind up pocketing the most delegates but she's going to lose.

The Media will see to it.

It's unlikely she'll get out and out beaten across the board, but she'll still lose. She'll lose by not beating Obama across the board or she'll lose by not winning in every big state or she'll lose by not winning by a large enough margin in the states she's supposed to win or by not coming close enough in the states she's expected to lose or she'll lose by not getting the votes of the right demographic or she'll lose by not getting enough votes in the demographics that were going to vote for her anyway or she'll lose because not enough people tell the exit pollsters on their way out how excited they were to cast their vote for her.

Whatever, however.

She's going to lose.

She's going to lose because they're going to say she did and they'll say it because they want her to.

This is not sour grapes. This is the way it's been going on for fifteen years now. And those of you who think that this is a good reason not to support her, so we can get away from this, those of you who think that Obama will somehow be able, through the sheer force of his personality or the beauty of his rhetoric or the wonderfulness that is him or through the plain fact that he is not a Clinton need to consider this very real possibility:

The reason he's a media darling now is because he's not a Clinton. He gives them a way to dump on the Clintons while congratulating themselves on how cool and post-partisan they are.

If and when Hillary's beaten and Obama's the nominee he becomes the Democrat running for President.

And you watch.

If the Republican running against him is John McCain then every single move Obama makes will be the wrong one.

Everything he says will be a lie.

Every time he appears to win he will lose."

You guys should go back to writing North Korean propaganda posters.

I generally dont go in for media conspiracy theories anymore. There is no question Obama is a phenom in the polticial world and he is going to get a lot of good press for awhile. People will tire of the story at some point, hopefully if he is the nom it will not be before Nov 08.

16. I agree with you
These "WOE IS ME, ALL HOPE IS LOST IF YOU DONT VOTE FOR HILLARY" posts from her camp are really growing quite tiresome. Well, that and being called a sexist because I'm voting for Obama.

8. I agree
It's too bad that we have so many talking heads on the news networks that are trying to make the news happen. No one noticed when Ted Kennedy supported Kerry...You hear all about the big rock stars out endorsing Barack and very little about Clinton endorsements from celebrities...even though she has several in the bank too.

The are turning this into a dog and pony show...and Wolf Blitzer even admits that he likes the excitment of a close race.

Why can't we let edwards, gravel, obama, biden, dodd, clinton et al win based on their own merit....and give them equal time to state their platforms, etc? This is just stupid.

11. That's a brief synopses of what's been happening and what will continue to occur going forward
Sad, but true - the media thinks it's allowed to be one of the players in the game.

"Unbiased" is just a word now, it has no real meaning as there is no context where it is not just part of somebody's "spin" cycle.

Oh, well - let's hope for the best. Gobama! :(

14. Agree, they will spin any outcome as bad for her. The best way
to gauge how they really think it went for her is to watch the volume of foam around Tweety's mouth, and the intensity of pink in his face.

17. As a non-American interested onlooker I have been appalled by the media bias against Hillary!
Edited on Tue Feb-05-08 02:46 PM by glarius
They (all networks) constantly call her "frosty" or "cold" or "programmed", etc. I watch her in her stump speeches, and though she is not as lyrical as Obama, she is effective and informative. Last night I watched her on Letterman. She was very likeable and displayed a great sense of humour, which she has done several times before when I have seen her on his show. Perhaps the Clinton campaign should do a TV ad using a compilation of her Letterman appearances.
It really is shameful the way the media is on her like vultures. MSNBC is especially rabid in their anti Hillary stance.
P.S....I would be happy with either Hillary or Obama as your new president.

the fact is that who your president is greatly effects my country and the rest of the world. We are not anti-American people, we are anti George Bush and his cronies and all they stand for.

19. I'm worried about you. You have too much emotional investment.
Seriously, your posts usually amuse me, but your posts of late show me signs of potential manic depression and here's hoping you can take the results (whatever they may be) with some perspective.

The contest will not be decided tonight. It will go on.

This post sounds very dark to me and you could probably use some sunshine and a nice walk outside.

28. I'll be interested to come back to this post over the course of Obama's campaign.
Most of your posts are childish and petulant, and this one is, too. But there's a nugget of truth in it -- the media loves Obama. The reasons for that are more complicated than you lay out, but I think it's true.

The question is, will they turn on Obama when he runs in the general?

We shall see.

I think not, you think they will.

If Obama becomes president, you should start looking up recipes for crow.
