Politico's Roger Simon is a GOP hack who attacks Hillary, Obama & Democrats |
|
In his June 6 column, Politico chief political columnist Roger Simon declared former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney the winner of the June 5 Republican presidential debate and attributed Romney's victory, in part, to the fact that he is " trong, clear, gives good soundbite, and has shoulders you could land a 737 on."
As Media Matters for America noted, Simon has previously described Romney as having "chiseled-out-of-granite features, a full, dark head of hair going a distinguished gray at the temples, and a barrel chest," adding: "On the morning that he announced for president, I bumped into him in the lounge of the Marriott and up close he is almost overpowering. He radiates vigor." http://mediamatters.org/items/200706060004
Politico's Simon on Clinton: "The (rhymes with rich) is back."
Politico chief political columnist Roger Simon began his November 16 column by asserting, "The (rhymes with rich) is back." Simon began his column with that phrase just two days after his colleague, Politico chief political writer Mike Allen, responded to a question about referring to Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY) as a "bitch" by saying, "All right. But what Republican voter hasn't thought that? http://mediamatters.org/items/200711160012
The Politico's Simon botched description of Kerry's joke Roger Simon, chief political columnist for The Politico, wrote that Sen. John Kerry had "botched a joke about the draft" in October 2006. In asserting that the botched joke was about "the draft," Simon echoed Republican claims that Kerry was disparaging U.S. troops, rather than President Bush, as Kerry has said. http://mediamatters.org/items/200701250003
Politico's Simon: Romney "up close ... is almost overpowering. He radiates vigor" In a February 13 column for The Politico, chief political columnist Roger Simon claimed former Republican Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney "looks so much like a president would look if television picked our presidents (and it does) that sometimes you have to ask yourself if you are watching the real deal or a careful construction," as noted by blogger Atrios (Media Matters for America senior fellow Duncan Black).
