Chelsea Clinton has added her comments to the viral Robin Morgan email...
...now going around.

If you haven't read Ms. Morgan's essay, it's here:

http://www.womensmediacenter.com/ex/020108.html

Now, this is where it gets interesting. A writer on Slate received a copy of the email forward... with Chelsea's comments added when she forwarded it. Here is an excerpt from the Slate piece, including the comments Chelsea added to the new version of the email going around:

http://slate.com/blogs/blogs/xxfactor/archive/2008/02/05/chelsea-s-take.aspx

In the version I got, it looks as if Chelsea forwarded Davison's email with Morgan's essay, and added this note: "I echo Nickie though would also add to please forward this to all the men you know too--voting in the election tomorrow, voting next week, already voted. I don't agree with all the points Robin Morgan makes but I do believe her thesis is important for us all to confront--I confess that I didn't entirely get 'it' until not only guys stood up and shouted 'iron my shirts' but the media reacted with amusement, not outrage..."

Interesting, to say the least. Especially the timing... maybe it's me, but I'm starting to get that Gloria Steinem essay on the eve of New Hampshire feeling again.

1. Oh dear so here we go with any piece of trash about the Clintons
isn't it odd that we constantly and everlastingly get this crap from the other candidates supporters WITHOUT BIT OF COLLABORATING EVIDENCE. Typical of the type that support him.

2. Any piece of trash??
What are you talking about? I found Chelsea's comments to be provocative. And on a slow Tuesday as we wait for polls to close, it's also a small bit of news.

10. I agree, this is a constructive thread that in no way attacks anyone
I like Chelsea's comments a lot. It shows that she is continuing to reevaluate the world around her, and I think that's great. She also made a point to add that she does not agree with everything that Robin wrote, and I was pleased that she didn't just mindlessly pass it on.

12. I would love to have a chat with Chelsea and find out
what part of the article she does not agree with.

That child is fascinating.

Good grief, you people are a sensitive lot. It's a freaking article about Chelsea freaking Clinton.

Simmer down on the concern trolling a little.

3. haven't read the essay before, thanks...very passionate
"—Young political Kennedys—Kathleen, Kerry, and Bobby Jr.—all endorsed Hillary. Senator Ted, age 76, endorsed Obama. If the situation were reversed, pundits would snort “See? Ted and establishment types back her, but the forward-looking generation backs him.”"

good point there...among many others

11. Interesting - Good for Chels.
It takes a while to get "it" if you have not lived it.

That is what I like about Hillary's campaign. Even if she does not win, her candidacy exposes the ugly warts that currently have band aids and makeup covering them over. Each day that Hillary stays in it, more of the facade comes off.

GOMAMA!

13. Chelsea's comment is a good reminder to me that younger women
often don't "get it" about the treatment of women because they didn't experience the fights for rights and fair treatment that older women had. Sexism is still alive and well, unfortunately, but it's often, though not always, more subtle today than it used to be. It's also not as clear to them because today they have strong female role models in many fields, which early feminists did not have--these older women ARE the role models.
