To those who are grieving because their candidate is not on the ballot.
I just want to say that I hope at some point in this election process there will be a way for us to slip back into the excitement of this selection. I had hoped for a candidate that would be clearer on an Iraq exit strategy. I was certain that we would hear all about how we would remove the Patriot Act and regain our rights as citizens of this great country. I was confident that our leader would understand that the middle class cannot hold out much longer without some type on health care reform and that millions of uninsured people living in our country need an answer to this problem today. I was certain that veterans and soldiers would move to the front of the discussion. Somehow I have to get over it, suck it up and get with The Program. I just can't find my way there yet. Peace and love, Kim

1. Sorry, I can't either, but
my state is blue, and I will vote Edwards, even if I have to write him in. What sucks more, is that nothing will change for those who have little. And, since I've stopped watching TV, I won't have to listen to whomever becomes President.

Today, I took a step backward or forward, depending on how you look at it. I've become an old hippie. I will actively seek to go off the grid, and live my life a different way. Violence will get worse in the inner city, which is where I live now, and I have no stomach for it.

2. Retreat, that seems the only option.
We can tell the young people that we fought the good fight. Be safe, Kim

3. And that's the problem
how long can you fight? I've been swimming up stream for 40 years. What has gotten better? Have the dems grown a spine? We had a chance for a fighter, and "we" chose 2 conciliators. Nothing will change for those who have very little. If the kids "know better" let them have at it. I'll retreat and do my charity work, so at least some people will be helped.

4. I turned 50 last summer.
After the big day I realized that I had allowed * to steal eight years of my 40's. I cannot afford to lose any more time. Today I actually looked at the volunteer positions in my area. I feel like if I can make a few people's lives better that is better than nothing. Until now my volunteer work has been on community boards. I feel like I really need to connect on a survival base if that makes sense. I think this is going to get really bad for many people and I prepare for it in my own life as well. Peace, Kim
