Low turnout here in my area, I was 26 at 1:00PM out of 800+ in this precinct.

Low turnout here in my area, I was 26 at 1:00PM out of 800+ in this precinct.
My area is a red zone in upstate NY. I was the only guy in the polling area and one of the youngest at 65+. I worked as a poll watcher in this precinct and it is a low number even for a primary.

I'm not surprised most are Reagan Democrats and will vote for McCain.

3. The local Dem were not voting and will support McCain in the general. More than
one have told me they would not vote for a black or woman.

4. weather was bad here this AM, (also upstate NY)
I'm sure many people were more worried about the morning commute and will vote after work. In our little bedroom community that is pretty much what the majority do anyway. I voted atound 2:30 and one of the poll workers said turnout had been pretty high so far.

8. The Democratic race is not competitive in NY
And competitiveness drives turnout.

Also, the polls don't close until 9PM in NY.
