Menendez (SuperD): "I Will Vote My Conscience" , i.e., NOT the will of the Public |
|
This has been a topic of discussion on Air America today, when Barbara Boxer said she would NOT endorse but, as a Super Delegate, would pledge to vote the will of her constituents. Unfortunately, not all Super Delegates are going to be that.. morally just.
Look for Clinton to try to win by pulling on Super Delegates and by trying to seat FL and MI. No matter WHAT the will of "the people" turns out to be.

1. For the final time, the delegates of MI & FL will not be part of the nomination decision. |

"Look for Clinton to try to win by pulling on Super Delegates and by trying to seat FL and MI. No matter WHAT the will of "the people" turns out to be."
Does that mean all the SuperDelegates for Obama from CA and NY will vote for Hillary?
You sure are a bright one. :eyes:

7. There's no reason to mount a personal attack on me, rinsd. HRC has |
|
already announced this plan, which is in direct opposition to the pledge she signed.

9. Perhaps because you are deliberately posting disinfo? |
|
"I hear all the time from people in Florida and Michigan that they want their voices heard in selecting the Democratic nominee.
"I believe our nominee will need the enthusiastic support of Democrats in these states to win the general election, and so I will ask my Democratic convention delegates to support seating the delegations from Florida and Michigan. I know not all of my delegates will do so and I fully respect that decision. But I hope to be President of all 50 states and U.S. territories, and that we have all 50 states represented and counted at the Democratic convention.
"I hope my fellow potential nominees will join me in this."
"I will of course be following the no-campaigning pledge that I signed, and expect others will as well."
Note she is asking the delegates get seated, not that they be counted in the race for the nomination.
Add that to your bullshit smear about SuperDelegates and well I think my insult was fitting.

2. Your assumption is that the 'super delegates' are a monolithic bloc. |
|
Not so. While, yeah, they are not tied to the primary vote, most are elected officials, formerly elected officials, governors, Congresspersons, etc. of the Democratic party.
They play a role, but it is not inherently nefarious, imho.
