Say hello to a McCain Administration... |
|
I hate to say it, but McCain will peel off the independent vote big-time... Hillary won't carry them.
What is WRONG with my fellow Democrats in these important states?

It's a ridiculous thought, really |

Unless there's another false flag operation and McCain, having consistently out-hawked Bush for the last several years, will look like the strongest candidate.

First of all: We don't have a nominee yet.
Second: Neither do the Republicans.
Third: It's a little early to start writing our obituary, don't you think?

22. McCain is SCARY! He's got a lot of people convinced he's the "maverick"... |
|
He's further right than Romney, but he's got people thinking he's liberal... That's why he's terrifying. That's why he'll win the independent vote.

17. I am for Obama, and think he'd run stronger than HRC, but any Dem really seeking to beat McCain only |
|
needs to hammer the point home EVERY DAY that a vote for McCain is a vote to 'stick it out' in Iraq, with more surges, and the Dems should win
but I would feel MUCH more confident w/Obama as the nominee; and we'd have a better Congress too, methinks

21. When election day comes around |
|
If McCain is their nominee, all those right-wingers who are frothing and spitting about him will go into their polling place, vote for him, and then walk out and shout about how they refused to vote for such a liberal-in-disguise. McCain will NOT lose the far-right vote, regardless of what exit polls say, because they'll still prefer him to the alternative, whoever that winds up being.
Whereas McCain WILL be able to siphon off a fair number of independent voters with his so-called "moderate" label. It's by no means a foregone conclusion, but I'd be worried about McCain.

not to even start going into the many many stupid comments he has made of late - - -like being 100 years in Iraq and oh, how about not realling knowing much about the economy..... He has just about buried himself in the last year. The pictures of him and Bush hugging and kissing will be great campaign pics to!

26. I agree - not only will he benefit from |
|
Independent voters who have a knee jerk hate reaction to Clinton -- BUT the idealists of the younger set will forego the election in dissapointment and disaffection in seeing another corporatist as their supposed choice.
That is enough margin (plus the vote stealing or vote negating skills of the Rethugs) to sway to McPain.
PLUS -- if Clinton is the nominee -- troublemaker Nader is sure to jump in siphoning off even more "message" voters - perhaps to make enough difference in critical electoral states.
Her competence and "experience" notwithstanding -- Clinton is an ultimate loser in a guaranteed close election in November if she is the nominee against McPain.
PLUS a "terror alert" is for sure to put him over the top if it is really close to highlight his supposed strength on such matters.
