Who will be more likely to work with Dean and his 50 state strategy? Obama or Clinton? |
|
I've got until next Tuesday to figure out who to vote for. I said in the past I was going to flip a coin. I think this issue will determine it for me. Who will work with Dean and expound on what he has built?

13. Our state Dem organization is much stronger |
|
Were it not for Dean's 50 state strategy, we probably wouldn't have a new Dem governor.
Local and state level Dems like the 50 state strategy, it has revitalized their bases. There's no putting that genie back in the bottle.

The president always picks who heads his/her national party organization. McCaulliffe (the previous Chair of the DNC) was appointed by Bill. Dean was elected by the party.

6. There once was a time I thought Clintons campaign machine was best |
|
But now I would say Obama seems to have a better state by state organization that would be more effective in a GE where the Electoral College is important.

8. Obama, of course. No contest. |
|
Obama and Dean are two peas in a pod -- both committed to the 50 state strategy. Clinton's people despise Dean and always have. They're more than likely to replace him as soon as the convention is over and sure to do so after November if she gets the nom.

The Clintons, through their loyalists Carville and Rahm Emmanuel, have tried to torpedo Dean at every turn.

and her surrogates have already tried to screw Dean over and oust him.

11. Who is more likely to want to retain Dean as Chair? |
|
That's the question you should be asking, I think. If Dean goes, the 50 state strategy goes with him, you can count on it.
Obama is the answer, imo.

the state and county party chairs need to send her a strong message to leave Dean in place. They've all benefited tremendously from Dean's strategy.

but I have no proof of that. Dean's been great about staying impartial and on-message against the GOP.

21. Neither in all likelihood |
|
Dean might very well be replaced regardless of who wins the nomination. If either of them retains him at the DNC, I would think Obama would be the more likely. And that is about the sum of the 1 oz of difference between them, and the only thing that ever so slightly tips me in Obama's favor. Just not enough to vote for him. :)

Look at the map. Clinton isn't bringing in the people in the redder states like GA, Kansas, Idaho, etcetera. Obama is, despite having a more liberal record than Clinton.

24. Obama - Clintons have been angling to push Dean out since he took over at DNC. |
|
Edited on Tue Feb-05-08 11:13 PM by blm
This Michigan and Florida dustup didn't just 'happen' in a vacuum. It was to be the cause to hang their hat on when Hillary became the nominee and she pushed Dean out as chair. Obama is giving them a run they never expected.
I know who Dean would like to see win.
