She wants to look classy like those that boasted her MO win. Oh wait... MO is so close we don't have a winner, and Obama is on top right now.
This is why people have to wait, and even still - it's delegates, not popular vote.

53. It will be extremely unwise for the superdelegates to overrule ... |
|
Edited on Wed Feb-06-08 05:46 AM by krkaufman
... the votes of the people, as it will be to try to overcome a delegate deficit by seating the tainted MI & FL delegates. Assuming an Obama lead in pledged delegates, if you think the African American community, for one, will sit back while mostly white "party elders" hand the nomination to Hillary, and disenfranchising them yet again, you've got another think coming. It would be unwise, to put it mildly.
And the same is true should Hillary have the pledged/popular delegate advantage. Overruling the popular candidate risks splitting the party in half heading into the general election.
The winner of the pledged delegates, whether Hillary or Barack, had better be the nominee. And demoting the popular candidate to the VP spot on the ticket would likely not satisfy the candidate's supporters, either. Overruling the voters, regardless of which candidate, would be a less-than-optimal move making the MI/FL fiascos seem trivial.

He can fetch her coffee, take down notes etc. Let's see how competent he is and then maybe offer him a VP position when Hillary runs for her second term.

Don't claim a 'blowout' yet with that little of the vote in. And besides, we all know without Clinton's "get everyone to vote early while we're still ahead" scheme that she could have lost it.

52. What is distressing is Clinton's lead is based on Super Delegates |
|
Obama has more ACTUAL delegates, where clinton has nearly 90 more "super delegates". The super delegate was the compromise made to the power brokers when the nomination system (primaries) was made a bit less corrupt back in the 50's (I think Dr. Maddow said).
Super delegates consist of Dem: governors, senators, legislators.
I think we are likely to see a end to THIS system as well if the nominee does NOT reflect the popular vote (that is number of delegates based on the primary system NOT including the Super Delegates) I know that in '00 there was a great push to eliminate the electoral college which was only stopped because * was selected, and the goper in office had no desire to fix a system that benefit them greatly!
It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.
For the record I no longer have a dog in this race. I'm over seas so when I sent in my ballot DK was my guy. With Edwards pulling out as well, I don't really care for either choice. I slightly prefer Obama because he is not nearly as (bi LOL) polarizing as Hillary is, and I think a Obama campaign in the general would be a sweep, as opposed to a very hard battle if it was Hillary.

from California Monday night. They were both headed in to vote for Obama without knowing the whole truth.
I told them about McClurkin and the ex-gay movement Obama was courting and they immediately decided they were going to change their votes on Tuesday. I feel like I was able to help Hillary out some and at the same time help out some of my own peeps in the GLBT community. I'm so proud of that.
