1. Well, that's it then
game over!

Obama should just call it quits!

:sarcasm: :sarcasm: :sarcasm:

50.4 to 49.6... and if we went BACK to the states that already voted (but now present them with only two choices)... what then?

3. Did I say he should call it quits?
Although honestly talking up his big wins in Idaho and North Dakota do make me laugh a little....

I was trying to present something that's a little clearer and more objective (although ultimately meaningless) than states won and delegates awarded.

9. It's all about the delegates
and states won and their super-delegates so that's the objective way to look at the election. And considering everybody was saying he only won SC due to the black vote, I think ID & ND are a pretty damn big deal.

10. I know it's all about the delegates
But states are really nothing more than lines drawn on maps. I never said he won in SC just because of the black vote, and I'm glad that wasn't a factor tonight.

What I'm getting at is that Clinton's margin of victory tonight in California is likely to be bigger than the total number of votes cast for both candidates in Alaska, Idaho, Kansas, and North Dakota combined. Good for Obama for winning big in largely unpopulated boxes on the map.

13. Again, this was more in response to some Hillary people
who were saying (in thread after thread) "Game over" and "Take that, Maria" and such childish comments.

Hence, the :sarcasm: tag.

Last night, the SuperDuperTuesday, didn't really tell us all that much. It was a tie.

State "wins" are totally meaningless. It's all about the delegates.

There are plenty of scenarios where one candidate attracts more voters and even more elected delegates than the other and yet does not become the nominee of the party. It's just the system we have.

Probably better than just having the Party bigwigs go to a convention, get drunk, hire some hookers, smoke a bunch of cigars, and play poker until one is left with all the chips and becomes the nominee for President. But it still isn't all that "democratic" with a small "d".

Anyway, Obama did very well last night... considering where he started and where Hillary started. Very well. But he didn't wrap it up nor is it "all easy from here on out" either. Hillary, OTOH, didn't get steamrolled by the Obamamentum that has been built up for a few weeks now (since Iowa, not that long ago).

So, it's going to be a horse race. And my guess is that neither secures enough committed delegates to win the nomination on the first ballot. Not without either Hillary getting the Michigan and Florida delegates seated, or either Hillary or Obama secure all of Edwards delegates OR the uncommitted SuperDelegates move in mass to one or the other. Going to be some fun times.

Might be worth it to actually be a delegate at the convention for once (not just a coronation, and some crappy platform fights, but a real convention).

Anyway, I guess people don't see the :sarcasm: tag and understand that I was being, well, sarcastic (i.e. not meaning what I was writing, but rather the opposite!)

11. This was more about some Hillary supporters and their
comments after California results started coming in.

Hence the :sarcasm: tag.

It's a TIE!

That's more than 14M votes in less than half the states in a primary.
