3. It's against NM state law for any election results to be reported...
...until all ballots have been cast.

And we weren't well-prepared (in some districts) for the MASSIVE turnout!

People who were in line when the polls closed at 7:00 PM stood in line until after 10:00 PM to actually vote in Rio Rancho.

We learn from our mistakes.

Anyway. Sorry to keep y'all in suspense, I know it's been a real cliffhanger what's gonna happen to our massive delegate count. ;)

explicationally,
Bright

6. hiya Bright!! did you have to wait long in line?
we had lines most of the day but moved folks right along and luckily our people could wait inside and we even had chairs if folks needed to sit

7. Not very long, but of course they lost my registration and I had to cast a provisional.
I suspect that the computer at the state what tells ya what your district and polling place should be did NOT get mine right. I came up okay on the registration rolls but I think I ended up at the wrong polling site.

Oh, well. It was great just to see all the people!

happily,
Bright

8. A friend of mine living in Santa Fe said the elections office was unhelpful
She thinks they might even deliberately set out to obstruct voters. She identified herself as a Democrat when she called. She said they gave her the most minimal information possible; it was like pulling teeth.

11. the Party ran the caucus, the election office had nothing to do with it and were
fairly clueless

we borrowed polling booths and ballot boxes and we have to have everything back by 9AM tomorrow even though they don't need em now until June

and our Clerk is a DEM!! I can't imagine how 'helpful' the Repuke clerks are being.....

14. Well, I wouldn't necessarily assume that...
...given the overall quality of "customer service" from just about any local government office in Santa Fe. We are pretty deep indigo blue here, so I imagine a GOPpie calling for information would have gotten about the same level of cheerful responsiveness.

That's why I got my information from the websites. Not a whole lot better, but less aggravating and no hold time.

philosophically,
Bright

5. He was on MSNBC earlier
and reported his belief that even with crummy weather over many parts of the state, this was a record primary turnout.

16. the state bought all new machines, optical scanners with paper ballots
it was a mess, but it's better now I think....

tonight however that is moot, as the caucus is run by the Democratic Party of NM and we hand counted all the ballots with party volunteers
