Just looking at the big coastal states she won, and the small Red ones he won, is making me think that they might be unstoppable if they joined forces. She does well with women, seniors, Hispanics, and the Democratic base. He does well with men, younger people, African Americans, and Republicans and Independents.

Have I left anyone out? What's not to like?

Flame away but that's what I think.

Maybe it's only symbolic and fleeting -- I'm interested in the best PERSON for the jobs of President and Vice President.

20. He can do it as VP. Al Gore was no slouch despite having to compete with Hillary.
I'd like to see him work on restoring civil liberties and creating public service programs for young people, among other things.

I'm not enthused about a Hillary Clinton presidency but I think she'll be better than Bill was in a lot of ways.

John McCain is my Senator and the thought of him being President makes me physically ill. Hillary can campaign in the big blue states and Barack can campaign in the red and purple ones. I just wish the Clintons would go away but they're not going to so let's make the best of it.

10. I still think the deal was cut last fall
Whoever wins the delegate count is the President, and the runner-up is VP.

Obama has less of a poker face than Hillary. He has made too many "tells" (facial slips) in interviews and debates. I'm sure the Obama faction will disagree heartily (they are now calling people they disagree with "nimrod") but it makes sense.

The Republicans have been crafting a team-ticket strategy, too; Krauthamer ran it up the GOP flagpole last October in National Review. At this point, I think it will be Hillary/Obama vs. McCain/Huckabee; but obviously the Democratic ticket is still much too fluid to call.

spot. Besides HRC needs Barack more than he needs her. I don't want him bringing his support base to help her against the Repubs if she gets the ticket. The Clintons need to stand on their own and get slaughtered on their own. Leave poor Barack out of it. I don't want to see Barack get treated badly like Gore.

Edited on Wed Feb-06-08 02:04 AM by NJObamaWoman
Lot at Gore. He is still not our president. Being VP doesn't mean that Barack will be our future president. I rather he go back to Congress. If as the HRC supporters always say that Clinton can take on the Repubs than let her do it on her own. I as a Barack supporter don't want Clinton on any ticket with Barack because he can do it on his own. I have faith in Barack. It sounds however like some here don't have faith in their candidate. Again HRC NEEDS Barack more than Barack needs HRC.

If HRC can't beat McCain on her own than she shouldn't be our candidate.

Go Obama.

50. I'm afraid she'll dangle the possibility of an Obama VP to win the nomination
Then they'll pick a "safe" white guy. For the best, you know. We can't take any chances with a woman AND a black on the ticket!

That'll suck because she'll put someone bland and uninspiring like Bayh on the ticket. And we might lose to McCain in that case.

she dangles VP to win the nomination.

She has zero to gain by offering it to him.

And, the political reality is, as you describe. It's gotta be a white guy.

Putting both of them on the ticket, in any order, is a recipe for disaster.

A way for the Dems to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

And, she is not going to lose to McCain.

63. It's not just you.
I have to admit, after watching Hillary's performance in the CNN debate last week, her National Townhall on her website, and her appearance on the Late Show, I am starting to like her more and more.

Hillary is highly intelligent and an effective communicator in all kinds of settings.

I also have to admit that Barack Obama could benefit from more experience at the national level.

I believe very strongly that the next VP should be someone who can win the Whitehouse in 2016.

I don't want to win the Whitehouse for just 4 or 8 years. We need it for 16 years at least.

So if Clinton wins the nomination, I really hope she will pick Obama as VP.

Otherwise maybe Bill Richardson, but he underperformed in the debates.

Wes Clark I can see as Secretary of Defense (Congress can vote to waive the 10-year rule).

Joe Biden as Secretary of State.

John Edwards as Attorney General.

65. I think that would be a dream ticket...
it may not happen, but it would be a winner. Also, Obama would be a killer Attorney General! John Edwards would be a great VP for either Hillary or Obama. There are many wonderful possibilities! I think that the Democrats could put all three candidates, Bill Clinton and Kennedy, and spouses on the campaign - AND WIN THE BIGGEST ELECTION OF THE LAST 50 YEARS!

I'm voting for any Democratic candidate, no matter what. I am so tired of *bush's* (including jeb!) that I could throw up...let's just make sure that they don't hack the election this time.
