that Obama is so awesome he was able to erase a nearly 20-point deficit in Mass in a two-week period. Either that, or you believe Hillary has made some terrible missteps over the last two weeks.

It's more likely that Kerry and Kennedy are huge assets and Obama is an attractive candidate once people get to know him. They, primarily Kerry, most likely contributed to Obama raising more than three times his (and Hillary's) monthly fourth-quarter 2007 fund-raising average in January:

Obama Sets New Online Record

By Jose Antonio Vargas

Sen. Barack Obama has set a new online record, raising more than $28 million online in one month.

To put this into context, Howard Dean, known as the first Internet candidate, raised $27 million -- during his whole campaign.

A spokesman said $28 of the $32 million that Obama raised last month came over the Internet. Ninety percent of the online donations were $100 or less; forty percent were $25 or less.

In January, more than 10,000 people gave between $5 and $10 on the Internet, he said.

Hillary raised only $13.5 million in January.

Thank goodness the mods deleted it. There should be no tolerance for bigots here.

4. This is very telling
MA is a huge Dem base, and Hillary dominates in that area. But, look at CA and AZ. Clinton has fought all over the country tonight. I wonder, will the AA community that supported BO in the primary support the Dems in the GE if he doesn't get the nomination? Makes you wonder what truly mobilizes the voters. Style or Substance?

5. They gave it a real boost, as did Caroline
especially Caroline. I think journalists just like to be able to say something bad about somebody.

12. Fortunately, the media can only get away with the spin until the delegates are counted. n/t

13. Except they're even spinning that
They started out reporting just the elected delegates, with Obama winning. Can't have that, so now we've got super-delegates too. And for some reason Michigan is lit up on the MSNBC map, and sometimes Florida is and sometimes it isn't. They just don't stop spinning for Hillary. After all this time, we the people still don't have a method to get around the damn media.

The spin is amazing. Obama's campaign wasn't expecting to win, just cut the lead.

That's exactly what those endoresements helped to do; he was down 20 points or more in those states. Now on we go - and I'm ready in Texas! :hi:

19. It appears Hillary's campaign is hurting
financially. I guess they're hoping such a loan pays off for them as it did for Kerry. We'll see!

18. The M$M is part of HRC's spin machine. Kerry/Kennedy helped MA, but Obama was not expected to win.
Only through the B.S. spinmeisters on the day before ... that wias B.S. conjecture to make it look like HRC actually did something.

Bless the efforts of The Kennedys and The Kerrys. They DID help Obama close more of the gap within the states of BOTH MA and CA. :patriot:

20. Agreed and this was clear at the Boston rally on Monday night
Edited on Wed Feb-06-08 06:59 PM by Luftmensch067
Enormous crowd (the line stretched for what seemed like a mile and we heard that some people had been waiting since that morning!) yelled itself hoarse for Obama and all of his political supporters. The biggest reception, of course, to Kennedy and Kerry.

Both senators did the brave thing in coming out for Obama and the timing of their endorsements helped his campaign enormously. The effect of both of them campaigning for him around the country has been amazing as well. I'm quite sure Kerry's campaign appearance helped him win Connecticut and both Teddy and JK's work in California did much to bring him as close as he got (which was close!)

Obama held that crowd of thousands in the palm of his hand on Monday night and if he'd had the time and money to campaign in other areas of MA, I think it would have been a landslide victory. Seeing him speak in person, you just know that this man is who we need for our next president.

Thanks to Kennedy and Kerry for bucking the D.C. status quo and fighting to change "politics as usual" into "the transformational presidency!"
