1. What's with all the Edwards votes?
Do you think those are absentee or did a lot of people vote for Edwards today? A lot of counties would have went Obama with the Edwards vote.

4. Edwards very strong up here. Rural counties love vote-by-mail
Those two things gave Edwards a lot of votes proportionally.

Yeah, I suppose that could happen in Oregon too, now that you mention it. We're 100% vote by mail. It is a lot more convenient. I was just surprised so many had voted early that it made that much of a difference.

6. I know several people in Fresno who absentee balloted within days of his withdrawal
and they could not change their vote. That is why I am still wondering about his timing.

7. Early voting is big in CA

due to traffic and hassle. It hurt Obama because a lot of votes were already cast before the "surge" and Edwards dropping out.
