"A lot of Republicans I've talked to are basically depressed about the race,"
This was from Bill Kristol, tonight.

Whatever one might say about feelings about the Democratic race, "depressed" isn't a word any sane person would use. In fact, the turnout for Super Tuesday combined with the close results suggests excitement and that as a whole voters across the country like both our candidates.

Yes, some voted against one candidate or the other, but I don't think that's representative. Certainly some of the crap that goes on in DU doesn't reflect what most voters think, or how they vote.

I think we have an embarassment of riches in our candidates. Either would be historic, and more important, either would make a good, maybe even great, president.

1. Had Edwards stayed active in the race...
I know many who would have crossed over to vote for him in the primary and in the General Election.

2. I'll get depressed fast if Hillary is the nominee.
We need to win this year and she can't do it in November.

5. Agreed
Especially, if McCain is the nominee. Obama did well in red states and blue states....he can compete and win. He won convincingly in quite a bit of the red states too..and held his own in the blue states he loss.

I think Obama gives the Dems the best chance to win in November.

16. Most Obama people haven't done an iota of
research on the candidates. You just follow the parade.

3. I don't know about that....
The only reason I'm not depressed is because I'm not going to be around for the consequences after November.

7. That's what I am hearing in my circles. They might not like her but do respect her.
They want an end to the war and they know that only Hillary has the competance to get America out safely and with dignity.

dignity?

And what statement has HRC ever made that says they she will remove ALL of our troops and contractors, except those marines needed to guard the embassy? And has she ever said that we should abandon the "green zone" and return that land to the Iraqis, keeping just a small embassy as would meet the needs of diplomacy and the needs of the private citizens that travel to Iraq? When do you think it will be safe for an American, flying on a commercial plane, land in Baghdad and take a taxi to downtown... without armed escort and roadside bomb detectors?

must really be depressed. So depressed in fact that they are looking to God to cover up their lies and hypocrisy. They voted in Huckleberry, I mean Huckabee.

9. i am very depressed
about what I see in the dem party and on this board. I pray we come together around the eventual nominee, but I am not holding my breath. there are a lot of supporters of both candidates that seem to have (at least on this board) the "if I cant win I am taking my baseball and going home" mentality. I think there are a lot of people who don't see how important it is to have a dem in the WH in 2009, regardless of whether it is BOH or HRC

just think of what the next nominee to the SCOTUS will look like if that fossil McCain gets in

Just think of how many down-ticket candidates could use your vote - we need BIGGER majorities in the House and Senate so Pelosi and Reed are forced to actually do their jobs

It is bigger than one man - or one woman

peace

12. I share your concern
It would be simply tragic to have to clean up the mess their mass suicides would leave.
We'd better get FEMA back in tip-top operational shape, pronto!

It's because of them this country is in such a mess.
I've been depressed for eight fucking years, welcome to my world.
