Total Pledged Delegates: Hillary 632, Obama 626 (Latest numbers from CNN.com)
How could this be any closer?

http://edition.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/primaries/results/scorecard/#D

What if Hillary needs her Florida delegates to win the nomination?

I think they should organize another Democratic Primary in Michigan.

That would be fairer than letting the Superdelegates decide.

One thing is for sure: this race is going to be a long one! B-)

1. It would probably cost too much
to have another primary.

I am a Clinton supporter, but I don't think they should seat those delegates. When they come to the convention, they could be seated later as a formality, after the nominee is decided.

It is not Florida's fault that the delegates cannot be seated. The republican legislature set the primary date, and may have done it to screw things up for the Democrats. But Florida could have tried to work out something with the DNC. There is no easy answer here, especially when things are this close.

4. I was looking at the Pledged Delegates - not including Superdelegates.
I think that come the Convention, most of the Superdelegates will support the candidate with the most Pledged Delegates (especially if the same candidate won the most votes nationally).

Most of the Superdelegates are in the Clinton camp right now, but Hillary needs to win more Pledged Delegates than Obama before she can call herself the "winner" of the Democratic primaries.

5. I'm sorry; you're right
I was including the "superdelegates".

I think most will vote with the overall winner, though. I don't see them overturning the states' votes. At least I hope not.

6. According to Real Clear Politics...829 to 750 (estimate)
that includes superdelegates. That would not include Florida or Michigan, but those would help Hillary. Who knows, maybe they will run together? I'm voting for whoever the candidate is...no more bush!

10. Sorry if I misunderstood. But, as I understood it some Superdelegates are also Pledged
And there are still many Unpledged. This is getting confusing.

11. No problem. The terminology is confusing.
CNN uses the term "pledged delegates" for the ones chosen thru primaries and caucuses.

I guess instead of "pledged" it should be "elected" or something.
