I think we recognize the incredible shifts in mindset among Democrats going on across the country.
The tide is turning.

17. Well, I just thought that if the donation was 1% that would mean this person earns $100k and is |
|
...likely to have a savings rate in the 5% to 8% range and thus giving a political contibution of that amount would be a substanial commitment to their favorite candidate. But, in America today, earning $100,000.00 or more in annual income represents only the upper 20% of households. The average income earner barely can make ends meet and saves almost zero. For me living on a fixed income making a $10 a month contribution to political candidates is about as much as I can provide and I do.

Let me check the bank account and get back to you. I'm also going to have to start saving up for all that Obama paraphenalia that I'm going to hand out in Philly!
Spent the day yesterday GOTV in Camden. And spending the day there really reminded me why we need to elect Barack!
And it's almost our turn!

26. Makes me think, people: Ever heard of "Billionaires for Bush?" -- |
|
billionairesforbush.com A collection of people who dress up like Repub richies and show up at various events to cause humorous embarassment to that party. They had a lot of visibility during the 2004 convention in NYC.
Reading this thread (and hearing just now on NPR about a caucus of "Democrats Abroad" Obamatrons in a trendy bar in a fashionable district of Buenos Aires) I think someone needs to start a "Billionaires For Barack" group. Not sure how you'd dress them, but pretty sure they should carry wafer-thin Apple computers (or mock ones) as accessories.

28. I cried when I read this - thanks so much - I wish I could give as much |
|
My husband and I are in our 60's. No need to tell me that I am too old to be an Obama supporter. I do all I can on DU and on e-mails to talk shows and every other way to help him out. I just wish I could give him a donation. Thank you so much for being so generous!
We are in Florida and things are really really rough right now. Our taxes and insurance are ridiculous and I've been looking for a job for a year and a half so things are tight. I had to give up my last job to help my 38 year-old son who had no insurance and developed a chronic disease and then my husband and I started a business that went downhill when the economy went bad. My husband is retired military. I have had 2 sons over in the Bush Wars. I am hoping that we can get out of the Bush Clinton Bush ideology and let Obama give our country a fresh start for all of us and my grandchildren!
GObama!!!!!!!!
