For those questioning the outcome, don't bother. Her husband was one of the most popular Democratic presidents in recent history as far as Ohio was concerned. She's always campaigned here with him. The governor is running her campaign here and Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones is also a key leader for her here.
Obama is late in coming to Ohio. He doesn't have any history here. It will be an uphill battle for him.

10. Obama's momentum here in Houston |
|
Is big. Our expanding democratic base, as they hear of him, get excited.

Obama had a lot of the same kinds of things lined up in Mass ...
What we have seen with him is that if he has a chance to campaign somewhere he makes up A LOT of ground ... There is a long runnup to Ohio, and he has the money to work it ...

5. Almost certainly she'll win it. His job is to tighten it up |
|
And he can win or come close in TX where he's been making great progress. He'll sweep VT. RI will probably be close.

We both know where Sherrod will vote and we in Dayton have Rhine McLin, a super delegate for Hillary as well. Of course, she has Ted Strickland leading the state for Hillary!

7. Hah, I didn't know about Rhine |

but it sounds logical. Hillary Clinton has a long history with AA women in Ohio.

9. It will, indeed, be an uphill battle for him. I forget the details now, but I saw a poll |

on Ohio a couple of weeks ago and he was way, way behind Hillary. Time will tell if his campaigning can close the gap, as it has in some states or if Ohio is different or the dynamics are different as we get later in the campaign.
It will also be interesting to see what happens in the primaries and caucuses before March 4. Depending on how those go, Ohio and Texas might become a "line in the sand" for a candidate.
In any event, it seems unlikely that either one will get enough elected delegates to avoid the nomination going to the convention. They will each fight hard to be the one with the most elected delegates, so they can claim the "moral high ground" with the superdelegates.

11. I don't really see how. |

Ohio economically got destroyed by NAFTA and Free Trade, both of which Hillary supports. Blue collar workers all over aren't going to forget the 90s and all of their plants closing; are those people all of a sudden going to forget the Republican policy that made it happen?
Look at Ohio's voting in 2004 and see how they treated a decorated war veteran who volunteered to be a human target. Somehow, the Failure Fuhrer service dodger was more worthy in their eyes (that, and the election was stolen). How will they be regarding the former First Lady named "Clinton", someone they've been trained to distrust since 1993? There's still a whole ton of red in Ohio. I think we want a new direction, not the same old news.
